Title: Dual Role Technical Crewperson Location: Lucan/Leixlip Permanent Role Fully OnsiteThe Dual Role Technical Crewperson is responsible to the aircraft Commander, helping in the safe and efficient conduct of each Flight in support of lifesaving operations across the Republic of Ireland. The successful candidate will be required to conduct duties of both the Hoist Operator and Winch Paramedic depending on the operational need. This role involves periodic travel from the candidate’s primary SAR Base to cover operational duties across Ireland, and to help with aircraft movements when required.Responsibilities:Comply with regulations and procedures of company and Operations and Clinical Governance Manuals.Proactively report any safety issues.Upkeep a professional approach to all operational stakeholders and act as an ambassador for the company and the Irish Coast Guard at all times.Maintain high level of physical fitness commensurate with the position and participate in fitness tests as mandated by company and relevant regulation.Adhere to responsibilities and duties of company instructions and other regulations specific to Hoist Operator and Winch Paramedic.Promote a safe, respectful, and professional working relationship with colleagues and stakeholders at all times.Upkeep all mandated Technical Crew qualifications and make sure training requirements are achieved and documented correctly.Maintain accurate records of flying and duty periods to make sure that Flight Time Limitations are not exceeded.Maintain professional registration and CPD to the clinical speciality level mandated by company and in compliance with company Clinical Governance and PHECC requirements.Participate in clinical speciality upskilling activity required and maintain any advanced skills and CPD commensurate in compliance with company Clinical Governance and PHECC requirements.Prepare helicopter and all system/sensor equipment (Hoist Operator), medical/rescue equipment (Winch Paramedic) prior to every flight. Inform the aircraft commander if any issue arises that may delay or affect capability of the helicopter and/or equipment.Proactively participate in pre-flight and post-flight briefing/debriefing and help with logging of rescue hoist utilisation and aircraft fault reporting.Make sure passengers are correctly briefed and authorised and any cargo is authorised and stowed correctly within CG limits and informing the aircraft Commander of any Dangerous Goods considerations.Conduct Technical Crew duties to include: Helping with preparation, movement, and maintenance of aircraft.Carry out navigation, observation, hoist operator and winch paramedic duties when required.Operation of all aircraft systems to help with tasks – rescue hoists, hover trim systems, communication systems, mission systems and sensor equipment. Qualifications and Experience: Current EASA Class 2 Medical and PHECC registration to minimum level of Paramedic.Minimum 3 years’ experience on a dedicated SAR unit as helicopter Technical Crew. 100 hours operating experience in helicopters in an operational environment similar to the intended operation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Dynamic risk assessment skills.Excellent attention to detail with a high level of motivation.
