Then, you’ll find the right matches for our requirements – and see those deals through.About this roleThis role is part of the Global Logistics team within Global Supply Procurement. This role is focused on logistics category strategy development, covering sourcing of transportation services globally.Spend: the portfolio spend across Global Transport 650m p.a.The person in this role will be responsible for partnering with a diverse set of key team member relationships across Customer Service and Logistics, Sustainability, Planning, and Finance, and both Regional & Global Procurement. In addition, this role works with a broad range of external suppliers and industry bodies.This role is pivotal in leading the design, and re-engineering of logistics networks across the markets, and plays a major part in influencing sourcing decisions with partners across all operations.Lead on the development of commercial logistics innovation and management of initiatives to deliver solutions to drive value across the logistics category.The role has accountability for seeking new ways of working with logistics providers globally as Diageo reevaluates its routes to consumer.Procurement aim is to deliver value to the business by the successful development and execution of world class strategies and sourcing plans. It is the Category Manager role that delivers against this aim.While the primary focus of the role is on strategy development, it also has a significant focus on execution e.g. large scale or multi-market sourcing activities; support implementation of major contracts, supplier collaboration and innovation.This person will play a leading role in co-developing the Logistics strategy as it relates to Diageo’s 2030 Spirit of Progress ambition. Lead the identification and management of all risks associated with the North American Logistics category.Ensure all compliance and GAR process are followed, tracked and reported on.About YouDeep knowledge and experience in logistics procurementStrong academic credentials, preferably a degree and an MBA.Likely to have led a procurement category in an international environmentStrong knowledge of Best-in-Class Procurement practices and ways of workingAn individual with the broad business acumen and an ability to interact with general management at a senior level is critical.Proven capability to work across the end to end supply chain including Sales & MarketingAbility to execute Pan-regional and global sourcing exercises with multiple business partners with demonstrated ability to deliver holistic valueA management style and approach that puts diversity and inclusion at the heart of all interactionsExperienced negotiator, capable of delivering great outcomes when leading high value & complex dealsWorking with UsFlexibility is key to success in our business and many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part-time, compressed hours, flexible location.
