Abbott Ireland Nutrition Division – CootehillThis is an exceptional opportunity for a Safety Lead to further develop their career by joining a Global Leader in the Specialist Nutrition manufacturing industry and join the onsite Environmental, Health & Safety team (EHS); where they will play an integral role in managing and continuously improving Safety standards on site.You ideally will have +4 years of relevant experience in a Safety role with demonstrated Safety program leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, have a proven track record of delivering results, is highly motivated & with a passion for EHS. Responsibilities include:The EHS Specialist will:Responsible for the Safety programs across the site.Manage a rolling strategic Safety plan and lead site-wide Safety program improvement projects, which seek to improve an already high-performing Safety culture.Advise & communicate to site Leadership, and external Abbott Nutrition Leadership, on matters of site Safety performance and Safety program governance.Lead sitewide Safety walkdowns, in conjunction with local functional Leadership, to ensure a high-performing Safety culture is maintained.Identification of workplace hazards and the completion of risk assessments, advising management on appropriate control measures to eliminate, minimise or control these hazards.Carries out internal audits and site inspections in conjunction with Site Management, recommends corrective actions, and improvements and documents findings.Lead proactive Safety performance trend analysis and where necessary, implement associated hazard reduction plans by engaging and collaborating with the responsible site functions.Develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders by fostering a culture of open communication.Lead ISO45001 preparation and ensure certification is maintained.Comply with Abbott Global Safety Technical Standards.Provide and or organise Safety training as required.The Safety Lead will report to site EHS Manager and will deputise for the EHS Manager on request.This list of responsibilities may change depending on plant needs and employees are expected to be adaptable and flexible where this need arises. Education RequiredThird level qualification in EHS or Engineering is preferable.At least 2 years’ experience in a high volume and dynamic production environment.Knowledge/SkillsAbility work as an effective member of a high-performance team.Have a demonstrated ability to work on their own initiative, coupled with excellent organisational skills.Excellent Interpersonal skills and verbal/ written communication skills.Ability to present to multi stakeholder levels (internal and external stakeholders).Ability to effectively interact and communicate across all levels of the plant.Experience in Environmental compliance is an advantage.Accountability / ScopeThis function will have the responsibility to ensure compliance with all regulatory and Abbott EHS regulations, particularly in relation to Safety Programs on site.
