You will respond to requests for new technology or technology-derived solutions from the customer using standard Vodafone products and designs.You will work closely with other members of the VBU team, including those in Solution Sales and the wider Business and Vodafone teams.This will cover a range of disciplines Sales Team, Commercial Operations, Product, Programmes & Projects, Field Engineering and Service to ensure that the technology solution designed is fit for purpose and can be readily deployed and operated in a profitable manner.Your key deliverables will be high-quality, commercially viable technology solutions that have been approved by the customer and all internal stakeholders. The Solutions Architect is responsible for creating the relevant documentation to established standards.This will detail the proposed solution that will be contracted with the customer with full equipment and delivery costs included.Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:Solution DesignResponsible for understanding, designing & documenting requirements for the solutions in their designated technology area(s) MPN\5G\IOTTechnical point of contact for business and customer during requirements capture phase. Design of solutions to solve specific customer problems, starting from agreed requirements moving through conceptual and logical to physical designs; Understanding the limits of selected products / technologies and identifying high level options that can fulfil customer business need / fit with StrategyAssist other members of the Solution Design team in multi-product solution design.SalesResponsible for technical support during commercial discussions with Vodafone customers.Responsible for providing costs (BOM\PS effort\Support) for Finance approval. Responsible for providing the technical component of bid material/Tender responses for Account Manager/SalesResponsible for supporting the Account Manager during the bid discussions\presentations with the customerResponsible for presenting the technical solution to client at peer levelLong DescriptionDesignResponsible for understanding and capturing the customer requirements, using additional resources where appropriate.Responsible for translating customer requirements into Vodafone language, product-set, SLAs, Professional Services efforts and producing design documentation according to Enterprise standards.Responsible for liaising with Product Management and other internal and external subject matter experts where additional product knowledge is requiredResponsible for articulating the technical solution to service and project management colleagues and ensuring that the solution design provides for a straight-forward deployment and meets business operational requirementsGeneration of High-Level Design (HLD) Documentation for customer sign off.Responsible for ensuring that all designs include an appropriate Enterprise network or solution management component to support service design, monitoring, reporting and capacity planningResponsible for supporting the Project team, if required, to ensure customer project sign offIn LifeEstablish a technical/engineering relationship with the client at peer levelIdentifying new business opportunities and co-developing them into viable business propositions with colleagues Responsible for understanding, managing and responding to customer’s evolving/developing requirements and expectations around technology solutionsLong DescriptionKnowledge and ExperienceKnowledge of MPN\Cellular\IOT communications design and industry protocolsCellular Radio and core networking design in line with 3G PP standardsCloud and Edge computing knowledgeKnowledge of LAN Data Switching protocols (IP subnetting, VLANs, QoS)Understanding of Telecommunication and IT service models and their practical application ( ITIL, eTOM)The requirements capture process and expected outputsTrack record of delivering successful solution designsPrevious experience of working in Telco, Infrastructure or Applications Development Experience of working in a virtual teamCommunicationDemonstrate strong communication skills and ability to tailor communication and interaction style to different audiences (Internal\Partner\ Customer) in a clear and simple wayCreate a trust based environment with customers and the solutions design team that encourages honesty, integrity and follow through on all actionsWe Are Looking For You, If You Have:Essential3rd Level Technology Qualification or Degree in Electrical\Electronic Engineering or Computer science.Industry certification level to Associate levelAbility to build strong internal / external relationships with key stakeholdersFocused on delivering the highest customer service standards to ensure a differentiated customer experience.Solution design with 5 + years experience, preferably in a large complex sales environmentProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint Strong communication/influencing skillsOperates effectively with virtual teams & dependencies on the performance of other business areasAbility to demonstrate Problem Solving, Analytical thinking and Decision makingDesiredIndustry Certification to professional levelProject Management skills with Prince II or ITSM Service Design ITIL qualification.
