Our client, a leading manufacturing company, has a vacancy for a Research, Development and Innovation Leader at their site in Co Cavan. The company has been operating since the 1970's and they are an integral part of larger group. They are constantly evolving through technical innovation, and they are now at the forefront of providing pioneering, cost effective, construction solutions designed to meet the needs of any construction project. The role of the Research, Development and Innovation Leader will include: Developing and ensuring implementation of procedures necessary to professionally research, track, evaluate, register, and commercialise Company Intellectual Property (IP). Engaging in a range of research, development and innovative activities that are related to improving manufacturing efficiency and driving decarbonisation across its manufacturing processes. Assisting in conducting an IP audit to benchmark current status of company IP protection and management. Working with external IP consultants and legal professionals to evaluate the current IP capability within the business and establish new IP recording practice and IP filings. Taking responsibility for the IP strategy and develop same in line with the Company objectives. Researching the competitive IP landscape relating to a new technology or processes under development across the range of sectors where the company has a presence. * Filing relevant patent protection on the RD&I output related to the various projects underway in the business. Establishing best-practice throughout the function and will be facilitated in implementing the necessary business change aimed at achieving ISO56005 relevant standard within a 2-year period. Implementing and overseeing IP management processes for RD&I projects. Embedding IP capability in the organisation through coaching and training of researchers and the general employee base. Developing organisation wide IP policy to support a culture of innovation and work towards business certification under ISO56005 standard Hours of work: Mon - Thurs 8am - 5.30pm and Fri 8am - 4pm 42hrs per week In Return: Excellent Salary Bonus Free parking Pension Life assurance Maternity and sick pay The successful Research, Development and Innovation Leader will have : A bachelor's degree in business management or business administration, legal qualification or related discipline. Strong analytical skills and technical report writing to authority submission standard. Previous IP management and/or RD&I experience will be an advantage.
