We Make Life More Rewarding and Dignified Location: Ballina Department: Maintenance Supervisor Reports to: Site Maintenance Manager Direct Reports to position: Reliability Engineer (s), Maintenance Planner and team of Maintenance Craft Personnel Travel: 10% Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor contributes to the profitability, continuity, and growth of Hollister Incorporated and lead a Ballina plant maintenance function to the world class maintenance performance. Responsibilities: Maintenance: Management of maintenance team ensuring that a productive work environment is in place to allow for the development of a best in class maintenance team. Proactively work to resolve issues as they occur ensuring that team are able to ‘Live The Legacy’. 30% Manufacturing Machines Maintenance: Ensure the Plant is maintained in a manner, which serves the functional requirements and projects a favorable image of the company. Manufacturing machines runs at the world class level and all maintenance or upgrades will be carried using Maintenance Pool (Engineers, Fitters) and/or Contractors, Electricians as appropriate. 15% Maintenance Strategy: Support the development and execution of Maintenance strategy which will deliver to the best-in-class site performance. Working with the Plant Leadership Team and other functions to implement and sustain planned maintenance strategy. 10% Preventative Maintenance (PM): Manage and Control the PM System so that all equipment has an effective PM schedule to prevent unscheduled breakdowns, and which are completed to exceed the target completion level according to the schedule using the resources in the Maintenance Pool (Engineers, Fitters and Electricians) and Maintenance Assigned to Cells. 10% Process Spares & Tooling: Ensure that the Process Equipment are serviced with suitable level of spares & tooling to avoid any unscheduled downtime, while ensuring that there is a close control on Inventory value, with an inventory reduction program in place. 5% Safety: Is fully familiar with the application of the Company Safety Statement and Health & Safety Legislation applicable to Manufacturing and ensures that all Maintenance Craft across the floor including the direct reports are trained in and apply the safe working practices per these requirements. 5% Environmental: Implement and Maintain Systems to comply with the ISO14001 Legislation. 5% Maintenance Development: Evaluate Personnel requirements within the Maintenance area and co-ordinate with Human Resources on recruitment. Identify training programs to meet the training needs of new and existing employees. Review the Training Progress of these trainees and evaluates performance t specified intervals. 5% Industrial Relations: Advise Plant Leadership on the Industrial Relations matters pertaining to the TEEU. Support as Management Representative where appropriate and take proactive approach in dealing with any issues and in Negotiations with local and National Union representatives of the TEEU. 5% Department Expenditure: Work within defined Spending Limits for Maintenance Overhead Budget and lead a spending reduction program to eliminate costs. 5% Support HPS Improvement Program: Act as support and be a team member on the projects which is related with the HPS system. Act proactively to support and drive the HPS in area of responsibility. 5% Qualifications: Academic/Credentials/Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related discipline is required A Professional Engineering certification and experience on leading Maintenance group would be an advantage. Length of experience 8 years experience in a progressive manufacturing environment with a proven track record of performance management, including supervisory level experience for a minimum of 5 years. Strong track record of managing change in a high volume manufacturing environment through the hands-on application of lean tools, maintenance best practices and employee engagement techniques gained over a minimum of 5 years Specialized skills/technical knowledge An ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of modern, effective production processes. Excellent interpersonal skills along with an ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization. Practical knowledge and experience of the application of maintenance planning / scheduling, preventative and predictive maintenance and SMED are required for the role. Knowledge of the Maintenance hierarchy and the practical application of the techniques is required. Specialized skills and technical knowledge in high volume flexible manufacturing process using mechanical / electrical / electronic and pneumatic technologies. Practical Experience of working in a unionized environment.
