JOB SUMMARYMy client is one of Ireland’s leading Mechanical, Electrical & Maintenance Contracting Companies and has established itself as a leading multi-disciplined projects company who have gained significant experience across a wide range of business sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Data Centres, Healthcare, and large Commercial Projects.They are currently looking for an ambitious Technical Operations Manager to join their Dublin team. The Technical Operations Manager will lead the team of project engineers, focusing primarily on design validation and value engineering in the pre-construction stage and commissioning at project completion. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain a library of company engineering and installation standard P&IDs and detail drawings. Lead the engineering validation of performance specifications, ensuring compliance with the design intent, industry standards and local codes and regulations. Lead the development of project specific P&IDs and equipment schedules. Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure successful integration of MEP systems and controls into the overall project. Lead the development of MEP systems drawings and specifications for design and build projects, including load calculations, equipment selections, P&IDs, layouts and performance specifications and controls functional descriptions. Promote a culture of continuous development through structured CPD learning. Engage with the supply chain for CPD modules to ensure your team stay updated with the latest advancements in their respective fields, ensuring their skills remain relevant and competitive. Encourage team members to share technical expertise through practical training, workshops, and case studies. Identify cost effective alternative solutions without compromising on the quality or performance requirements of the project specification. Develop value engineering proposals and provide technical support to the project management team presenting these proposals to external stakeholders. Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and technologies to reduce project cost. Lead the development of plant and systems commissioning plans (test packs), ensuring that systems are properly installed, inspected, tested, and documented. Lead the review of commissioning reports to ensure that results are compliant with design intent and without compromising on reliability or efficiency. Provide technical support to the project management team to overcome any issues or deficiencies identified during commissioning. Provide technical assistance to the project turnover team where required. Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation utilising internal and external providers. Manage workloads, set priorities, and ensure the team meets project deadlines. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree Qualification in Building Services Engineering or similar. Professional Engineering licence is desirable. 8+ years’ experience in similar role is desirable. Proven experience in MEP engineering, commissioning management, and team leadership is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations. Proficiency in MEP design software and tools, particularly in AutoCAD, Navisworks and Microsoft Office packages. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve project goals. Demonstrated ability plan resources to achieve deadlines. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
