Your new company Here in Hays we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Microbiology Group Leader with our contract lab services client. This is a full-time day role Monday to Friday which entails managing a team based on their biophama client site in Kinsale. The client would specialise in providing tailored support in the areas of environmental, pharmaceutical, and biopharmaceutical sciences for world renowned industry leaders.Your new role The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage an off-site team of analytical staff to ensure that team is operating at the highest quality and productivity standards. While having high morale and retention, the agreed customer requirements are entirely satisfied and that customer expectations are met or exceeded through effective leadership and quality operational management, while being a key point of contact for the client on a day-to-day basis. Effective coordination and management the team so that productivity, quality, documentation, work schedules, safety and housekeeping is run at maximum efficiency. Ensure that the customer gets the best possible service by continually reviewing best practice in relation to both commercial and quality issues and ensuring 100% ethical work standards and GMP compliance.Develop, coach, motivate team members through effective team-building and use of reward and recognitions systems celebrating team success.Review and approve all relevant documentation in a timely manner and ensuring that it is communicated, documented, filed accurately and compliant with the required standards.Review and improve commercial work practices while being responsible for identifying areas where efficiencies may be improved and liaising with the customer appropriately about any proposed improvements.Responsible for forward planning of activities in order to maximise the use of customer resources during training periods.Ensure that work is scheduled and cross-training takes place so that the service levels agreed with the customer are achieved. Responsible for amending schedules as required.Handle any customer related queries where necessary and liaising with their team and with personnel from other teams to problem-solve these queries if neededResponsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of the team work environment, and the safety of the team on the customer site.Ensure equipment is properly maintained and in the event of a breakdown that it is repaired in accordance with customer procedures (with reference to timeliness, quality and cost.)Ensure that all laboratory supplies are in place as required by the customer.Identify any opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the team to implement continuous improvement.What you'll need to succeed At least 5 years’ relevant experience in GMP laboratory.A degree or diploma in Microbiology, Chemistry or a related discipline is required.What you'll get in return Monday to Friday Days rolePension contribution, medical cover, health insurance and bonus are included.Chance to expand leadership skills in an in-demand field
