Limerick City and County Council performs a leading role in shaping the strategic vision of the city and county. It provides a diverse, comprehensive, and evolving range of services to citizens, businesses and visitors to the county which include the provision of housing, planning, development, environmental, transportation, enterprise, leisure, and community services. An opportunity now exists in Limerick City and County Council for the position of Director of Finance. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Finance will lead and manage the finance function within the Authority. As a member of the senior management team, the Director of Finance may also undertake other responsibilities in the overall strategic and operational management of such other departments and/or functions within the Local Authority as may be assigned. Changes to reporting arrangements made be made to take account of any governance changes. As a key member of the Senior Management team, the successful candidate will be required to make a valuable contribution to the strategic management of the Finance function as well as provide a high level of independence and objectivity. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to fully utilise their professional, technical and management skills in an environment that promotes a high-performance culture. As well as leading the finance function, additional responsibilities involving other function areas of the Local Authority may be assigned from time to time.
