Overview:Our client is a global leader in the med device sector with a massive worldwide presence and are currently in the middle of opening their brand-new site in Kilkenny, Ireland. This will be their 9th site in Ireland and there are no signs of them slowing down with expansion happening throughout most of their current locations.With this on-going expansion there is creation of multiple jobs throughout the country and I am currently recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager for their site in Clonmel, Tipperary. There is a strong salary and package on offer for this role. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the Vessel Closure value stream meets its customer quality, service, regulatory, financial and safety goals through effective management of the Operations function at the site. Managing an organization of >25 operations management professionals and >600 production operators you will act as a key contributor to the site and divisional sales and operations planning (S&OP) process and ensure a robust capacity model is in place to align supply and demand requirements. You will promote, support and drive Continuous Improvement in all aspects of the Business through a structured format such as Lean or Six Sigma. Recruits, coaches and fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organisational objectives. Keeps the organisations vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action. Builds strategic partnerships to further departmental and organisational objectives. Develops and executes organisational and operational policies by utilising technical/professional knowledge and skills. Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g.) compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), British Standards Institution (BSI), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations etc Develops, communicates and builds consensus for operating goals that are in alignment with the division. Provides leadership to assigned staff and supervisors by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving department objectives. Creates immediate to long-range plans to carry out objectives established by top management; Develops and calculates a budget for the department to meet organisational goals; forecasts future departmental needs including human and material resources and capital expenditures; recommends or modifies the structure of organisational units or a centralised functional activity subject to senior management approval. Education and Experience Required: Minimum 3rd Level Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent. is preferred. Minimum 9 years of experience in a similar field. Experience of Operational Excellence (Shingo, etc.) advantageous. Previous experience managing large manufacturing department in high volume medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, or equivalent industries. Previous experience with budgetary planning and control.
