The team’s scope includes:LoggingDistributed TracingMetrics Collection, Storage and DashboardingAlertingWhat you’ll doYou will support a team of engineers focused on building the next generation of monitoring systems at Stripe. In addition to helping define the roadmap for the next 3-5 years, you will be interacting with many other managers and their teams at Stripe, who rely on the Observability platform to deliver stable and scalable services to our customers.ResponsibilitiesDrive the roadmap and priorities for the team, and work with other engineering teams across the company.Support the team in achieving a high level of technical excellence and stability.Be an active contributor to the team’s codebase and play a primary role in technical decision makingHire and develop talent on the teamWho you areWe’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum requirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience with minimum 5 years of experience with software development.Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably managing infrastructure teams and projectsInterest in engaging with many other teams at Stripe, listening to their needs, and translating them into requirements for your team Preferred qualificationsExperience leading monitoring / observability teamsExperience using Prometheus, Grafana and time-series databases Hybrid work at Stripe Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams. Pay and benefits The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €108,100 - €146,300. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
