Reporting to the Head of Legal (UK&I) who is based in England, you will form part of a dynamic and diverse Group Legal team that supports the whole of the SD Worx business. Despite geographical distance, you will work closely with the rest of Corporate Legal to continuously improve the ways of working for legal services across the Group. That being said, your focus will be on Ireland . You will provide general commercial legal support to the business whilst advising and monitoring all applicable aspects of law relating to the company’s business operations. You will assist the management team and internal stakeholders (for example in sales, operations, product & finance) in ensuring that the business follows proper legal procedures in every way possible. You will advocate the fiduciary, statutory and ethical concerns raised in the organisation and strive to resolve legal issues in all areas and within the SD Worx risk appetite. You must be experienced in contract management and negotiation with both clients and suppliers, and in ensuring that contracts are accurate, robust and meet any legal requirements. Our preference is to have an individual located in Ireland however we are open to individuals with irish jurisdiction experience to be based in the UK with some travel to our offices in Bray, Ireland. There is a reason for this. We are, of course, looking for a qualified lawyer who can do the job and demonstrate excellence in the legal field. But we are also looking for somebody who is keen to learn more about our business and people and be creative in solving problems within our industry. Being willing to help the SD Worx business thrive through supporting its people is important, and we believe that this can be achieved through demonstrating experience in a number of ways other than a top university degree and/or experience at a high profile law firm. Please note that experience working with Irish jurisdiction is essential for this role. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating client and supplier contracts in the best interests of SD Worx. Client contracts include managed service contracts, software license and maintenance contracts Ensuring compliance of contracts with all internal policies, confidentiality and information security obligations and legislation in particular data protection laws Working with supplier management procedures to ensure that supplier management is effectiveReviewing existing legal contracts and compiling a schedule of deviations from standard contracts Managing and maintaining relationships with external counsel within budgetary confines Liaising with the SD Worx Ireland Information Security Officer on data protection issues Taking full responsibility for company legal compliance and advice Providing accurate and timely counsel to the management team and colleagues on a variety of legal topics, through regular training and communication Engaging in the formulation of internal governance policies and regularly monitoring compliance in conjunction with other governance functions Researching and evaluating different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations Collaborating with management to apply effective risk management techniques and offering proactive advice on possible legal issues Communicating and negotiating with external parties creating and maintaining relations of trust Dealing with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces Providing clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organisation Managing and updating company contract templates Maintaining current knowledge of alterations in legislation Conducting your work with integrity and responsibility Salary & Benefits SD Worx will offer an attractive salary for this role. You will not find one stated here though, as the salary will be dependent on the level of experience and expertise that the successful candidate brings to the team.
