In this role, as part of our Global Regulatory Compliance & Enterprise Risk team, you will support Stripe’s regulated entities across Stripe.What you’ll doThe successful candidate will report to the Global Assurance & Monitoring Lead who is based in Dublin. The role provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain experience while developing and enhancing their skill set in risk and compliance management disciplines. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to gain wide ranging exposure to Stripe's diverse range of business lines, senior management and the governance and workings of the organisation.You will play a key role in;ensuring that there is demonstrable, adequate, appropriate, proportionate and effective risk monitoring in place to monitor the management of key risks;providing assurance to Stripe businesses, Stripe Senior Management and key stakeholders on the adequacy, effectiveness and robustness of Stripe’s risk management frameworks, policies, procedures, processes and controls.To do this you will work across the business, completing control tests, executing other compliance, policy, process, product and risk reviews and general assurance activity and reporting on the outcome of that work. We work as one team across our business, so you will have the opportunity to liaise with colleagues in central Group functions, first line teams, Oversight, Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit teams based around the world. You will play a key role in working with colleagues across all three lines of defence, to help ensure that all assurance and monitoring activities result in effective combined assurance, eliminating duplication of assurance activities and resulting in meaningful oversight. Oversight of issues arising from assurance and monitoring activities will be a key part of the role.In this role you will help to ensure that Stripe continues to promote a culture of compliance and sound risk management by assisting with the development and delivery of the Monitoring & Assurance plan on an annual basis and the development of assurance frameworks and methodologies. You will support our programs for enterprise risk and compliance, ensuring that Stripe’s products, business and operations meet the applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and Stripe’s obligations to its European regulators.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of the Annual Monitoring & Risk Assurance plan ensuring that there is adequate and proportionate assurance in key risk areas;Support the development and maintenance of risk assurance frameworks, methodologies and guidance and liaising with other assurance and monitoring teams to to ensure that they reflect the Global position and best practice; Carry out targeted assurance reviews to assess compliance with key regulatory requirements;Execute control tests on controls that mitigate our key risks to ensure that they are adequately designed and operating effectively;Complete assessments of Stripe policies to evaluate if they are adequate and to determine compliance with the policies;Prepare reports for various stakeholders capturing the results of monitoring and assurance activities;Contribute to compliance processes by identifying opportunities from assurance and monitoring activities for improved adherence to risk and compliance requirements and standards;Work with Risk and Control owners to implement remediation programmes to address any deficiencies identified;Liaise with other Stripe colleagues and teams to ensure that all assurance and monitoring activities result in effective combined assurance, eliminating duplication of assurance activities and result in meaningful oversight;Staying abreast of developments in regulatory rules and good practice to ensure the Assurance and Monitoring Framework remains fit for purpose. Who you areWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. Minimum requirementsA good knowledge of risk and compliance assurance practices, and a good understanding of the risk and compliance issues that a company like Stripe faces;At least 3-5 years of experience in risk, audit or other control function-type functions in the financial services industry, preferably in fintech/payments;The ability to run your own queries so a good working knowledge of SQL, python etc. is requiredStrong understanding of industry practices and disciplines ideally having previously carried out assurance/monitoring reviews and/or audits;Strong critical thinking, analytical, and data-driven skills;High level of professionalism, demonstrating confident and consistent judgement and an ability to balance business needs with other priorities;Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills;Excellent reporting skills and be proficient in Microsoft office or Google suite of reporting tools;An aptitude for working in a regulated environment and for building compliance by design;An ability to find solutions to complex and hard problems and ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans;The horsepower to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and to balance multiple priorities and workstreams;Strong written and verbal communication skills—including the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders across the business;Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a proven track record in meeting deadlines and performing under pressureAbility to understand and interpret regulations, regulatory guidance and apply such in a practical manner in an operational environment; andGreat teamwork. Hybrid work at Stripe This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams. A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Pay and benefits The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €88,200 - €132,400. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process. Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
