Reporting to Customs Compliance Manager & Audit Supervisor, you will be responsible for completion of internal audits of customs declarations as part of an experienced compliance team. You will assist with answering internal and customer queries regarding compliance and providing our sourcing advice around customs. You will also assist with liaising with Irish Revenue & UK HMRC for advice and post clearance queries. Normal Working Hours are Monday to Friday 9am-6pm. Main Duties & Responsibilities To ensure the business is constantly compliant with all Customs/HMRC processes and any changes to legislation are implemented throughout the business. Maintain a trust-based and effective relationship with Customs authorities. Completing weekly internal audits in line with current processes. Generate audit KPI reports on scheduled basis. Monitoring and reporting of performance, use insights to identify continuous improvements opportunities on bonded warehouse processes. Daily management of question and queries vis shared inbox. Daily management of internal master data around customers, imports and processes. Facilitate on-going staff training and development. Training and support of new starters, monitoring their progress and accuracy. Daily completion of Revenue/HMRC post clearance checks and requests. Support and advise customers on all international import / export requirements especially with new processes brought upon by Customs Authorities. Collaborate with Customs, Operational teams in Ireland and the UK and the Brexit team to develop common standards, share learnings & improvements on ways of working. Ensure staff compliance of internal processes. Key Experience, Skills & Qualities: 2 Years’ Experience in dealing with Customs authorities. Freight forwarding experience would be desirable. Enjoy working with high level of autonomy, empowered to tackle potential issues. Used to work in a multi-cultural and international environment. Capable of building strong relationships based on empathy and trust Proven experience in Customs Compliance. An understanding of CPC codes, Customs Tariffs and Security Declarations. AEO Knowledge would be desirable. Strong knowledge of customs systems, requirements, and query resolution. Attention to detail driven with natural curiosity and ability to develop and implement systems and processes. What we can offer you?
