You'll be joining a global brand, Marriott, with over 8700 properties worldwide which makes it's the worlds largest hotel company.  The role of Regional Business Development Manager is based in Sheraton Athlone Hotel, which is one of 4 properties within the Hodson Bay Group. As we continue to grow & evolve our sales strategy, we are looking to appoint a regional BDM to focus almost exclusively on proactive selling for the Sheraton Athlone Hotel and Hodson Bay Hotel. The regional BDM will be responsible for converting proactive leads into contracted business. Through market segmentation, clear strategic planning & with the support of a Sales Executive the main objective of the role is to augment the volume of proactive business in the pipeline and ultimately drive conversion. In addition to having management responsibility for a Sales Executive, the regional BDM will be required to work alongside the Sales Managers and Meetings & Events Coordinators within Sheraton Athlone Hotel & Hodson Bay Hotel. Success in this role will be determined by the volume & value of proactive business being brought into the property, the quality of the revenue associated & most importantly, the ability to work well with the team in accordance with our culture of Respect. The regional BDM should be an excellent storyteller, have a strong commercial acumen and a real passion for working with people/organisations to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.  CORE WORK ACTIVITIES PROACTIVE SELLING Through in-depth analysis of different industries, the regional BDM will identify, evaluate and engage with organisations in relation to proactive selling. Management and coaching of Sales Executive, ensuring that their role is fulfilling and that their own personal development within the property is being supported. Relationship management with colleagues across the business whether that be from F&B, Spa, Marketing, Finance, Operations etc. With an eye on driving revenue, not just through M&E but also from within the properties, the regional BDM will identify opportunities to maximise revenue streams across the business. Workload to be planned out and time allocated for proactive visits as well as calls along with attendance at trade shows and local business events, as appropriate. The Sales Executive should have their own sales agenda also - accounts should be split & this process managed by the regional BDM. Utilise ability to persuade & influence, ensuring that the brand is represented in the best light at every opportunity, maximising the potential to drive proactive conversion. Daily management of the CRM tool along with general daily tasks that require organisation & attention to detail. Attendance at the weekly sales meeting where opportunities will be presented and discussed with the broader team, including the General Manager, Managing Director and Group Sales Director. Close working relationship to be established and maintained with Sales Manager and Meetings & Events Coordinator as the whole team contributes to the overall success of the Sales function.   REPORTING, ANALYSIS & INSIGHT A strong commercial acumen and passion for data analysis is essential. Proven track record of driving impactful results through interrogating data & implementing strategic change. Ability to make informed decisions based on data for the benefit of the business with specific focus on improving mix and revenue quality. Gathering of data and reporting activity back to the group in the weekly sales meeting, providing clear analysis, backed up with recommendations. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Degree qualification in Business Management or related subject. Experienced in sales, business development or related profession. Clear understanding & experience using a CRM tool & confident in ability to present. Ability to be agile & able to react to different daily requirements. Experience from within hospitality would be preferable. Excellent communicator, skilled in persuasive selling & negotiation. Fluent English required; spoken & written. Experienced in formulating sales strategies and able to multitask. Commercially astute & confident in taking considered decisions.
