Director, Engineeringwill be responsible for leading the overall Ownership program as part of the Global Common Platforms across DNB globally. Along with leading a team of professionals, you will work with various Product and Business teams to understand their needs and propose appropriate cloud-based architecture/design for implementation. This is for the Prime Platform Engineering Team that is one of the Big Data Pipeline processing engines in our Data Supply Chain. The Role requires a hands-on Engineering Leader that will work with the team to grow their skills, understand the opportunities of growth and bring engineering excellence to the Prime Platform team. As part of the Prime & Trade teams, you’ll: Manage a team of software engineers to build enterprise grade platforms and their career inspirations Contribute code as needed and set the direction with the team Drive Core Engineering Excellence to ensure we build, run and operate our Big Data Prime Platform Develop and execute on project plan and timelines, manage budget with our cloud provides and manage the relationships with internal and external partners Identify areas for growth with a focus on software development testing and automation About you: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in an appropriate working environment, of which five years would have been managing and leading software teams Experience with Java, Scala and Big Data platform design and development preferable Managing and planning a geographically diverse development of resources and teams Demonstrates clear and effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff, both business and technical Ability to motivate, mentor and guide the team, identify areas of growth for the individuals and the platform Ability to drive automation and ensure we have the right levels of testing and code quality checks in place We appreciate you may not meet all listed criteria above, but if you have the passion and eagerness to learn and grow, we want to hear from you!!
