Seeking a Head of Sale/Watch Specialist for a Dublin based Auction House. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of developing designated watch auctions for the company, to compete with the best the international market has to offer. Including all stages of the auction process from sourcing the consignments, to sale of products and department outreach. Location Dublin, Ireland Full Time Job Description: Seeking a Head of Sale/Watch Specialist for a Dublin based Auction House. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of developing designated watch auctions for the company, to compete with the best the international market has to offer. Including all stages of the auction process from sourcing the consignments, to sale of products and department outreach. Head of Sale - Roles and Responsibilities: Committed to the growth and development of the Fine Watches Department in terms of the number of sales made and the quality of the goods acquired for auction. Expected to manage all aspects of the catalogue production process, including cataloguing, lotting, layout and editing. Produced to company standards and proofed within established deadlines. Liaise often with the Marketing Department and Photography Departments to promote and sell goods and maintain a high standard of digital and printed catalogues. Prepare and organise sale viewings punctually, to company standards and to ensure that a sufficient number of trained staff are available for viewings to provide a satisfactory client experience. Maintaining long-term relationships with existing clients, both trade and private while proactively seeking new clients for future sales. This includes engagement with top clients and careful curation of a symbiotic relationship. Responsible for achieving contribution targets for Fine Watches Department sales with an effort to increase contributions, through a combination of market share expansion, minimum lot value thresholds and management of usual operating costs and overheads. Responsible for post-sale analysis and informed decision-making regarding consignments and the market in general and reacting accordingly by implementing procedures for upcoming sales. Delegating roles effectively within the department and across departments to establish a good basis of communication and routine. Maintaining an enterprising, active public image including organising and attending business development activities. This includes related events, talks, valuation days, private views, dinners, both internal and external. Creation of specialist editorial content for both in-house and third party including innovative promotion of designated Watch sales for the company. Specialist Roles and Responsibilities: Provide a reliable and informed sales valuation for clients, resulting in a loyal customer base and excellent department reputation. This includes providing expertise for sale, insurance and probate purposes. Actively source high quality consignments from a growing client base and taking initiative with regards to potential consignment opportunity for other departments Produce condition reports and technical examination of the consignments. Monitor the department email to see valuation requests and related queries. Report regularly to the office to fulfil valuation and cataloguing duties and liaise with clients and the other departments. Offer opportunities to engage with the public and potential client base through lectures, presentations, and various events. General Staff Roles and Responsibilities : Advise on general company sales techniques providing good departmental cross pollination. Expected to be present for sale related tasks across company sales, including phone bidding and clerking as required regardless of department. Provide additional support where required across the company.
