Our Cork based Medical Device client has an exciting opportunity for a Project Innovation Lead to join their team. The role involves driving innovation through research and development in areas such as machine learning, machine vision, and robotics. This role requires candidates that have a strong technical background (engineering/science) as well as a research & development background with excellent project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and collaborate with various departments to develop cutting-edge technologies.
  • Utilise strong technical skills in engineering or science, with proficiency in software development languages like C/C++ and Python.
  • Identify and pursue new research directions for emerging technologies, particularly in machine learning, machine vision, and robotics.
  • Lead and support innovation projects, collaborating with teams to evaluate and demonstrate new technologies, and establish business benefits.
  • Actively engage with customers and end-users to identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) required; Master's or higher degree preferred.
  • Significant experience (at least 8 years) in R&D and/or technology-related roles.
  • Experience with machine learning, computer vision, deep learning applications, and software development tools like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, OpenCV, and MS Azure preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems, architectural landscapes and infrastructures and a clear understanding of enterprise systems and processes
  • At least eight (8) years of professional experience in R&D and/or Technology related roles required.
  • At least three (3) years of related experience is required, preferably in Technology and Project Management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, especially in healthcare sectors, such as Good Practices (GxP) and Sox requirements, is beneficial.
  • Location and Travel: The position is based in Cork, Ireland, with flexibility for other locations in the EMEA region. Up to 25% travel may be required.
