The Role:As O&M Engineer you will be is assigned ownership of certain bundled or contracted water and wastewater treatment plants. You will have the responsibility to ensure the quality and quantity of any treated water produced or final effluent treated is within specification, and that each of the assigned sites, their contents and individual process’ are maintained as required. You will be the first point of contact for the O&M Technician in terms of any site process/assets/consumables/spares/ issues. You will ensure that all site HSQE measures including SOPs/SOPPs are being adhered to, as well as monitoring of energy usage and implementation of energy efficient measures. As an Operations & Maintenance Engineer, you will be expected to support the O&M project manager and contracts manager in the daily operation and delivery of live operational projects as well as showing progression and development in your own career. While you will primarily be involved in the O&M duties, due to the nature of the works completed by Glanua you will also have an opportunity to witness Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) installation work including civil/building engineering works as well as process design and commissioning. When you demonstrate aptitude and interest in furthering your career within the organisation, training and promotion will always be available to you. Main Duties and Responsibilities:The main duties and responsibilities of the Operations & Maintenance Engineer are outlined as follows:Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.SCADA monitoring, checks and reporting observed issues to the O&M Technicians & O&M Project ManagerClient Monthly Status Reports & Quarterly Payment Applications.Quarterly reporting and attending Client meetings.Maintenance of the contract SharePoint O&M Site, Microsoft Teams & Glanua shared drive folders where applicable.Assist O&M Technicians with the water/wastewater treatment plant preventative and corrective maintenance planning and execution, and reporting of same, including scheduling specialist trades as required.Procurement of site / lab consumables/spares within contract budgets.Planning, execution and reporting internal and external water/wastewater treatment plant site process audits.Training of O&M Technicians on all process activities.Process fault finding including laboratory work, jar testing and reporting.Monitoring of external laboratory reports, particularly in relation to exceedances and reporting of same.Assisting with the Process Proving stage of commissioning.Assisting with the implementation of HSQE/Process/Energy site audits.Develop and maintain Standard Operating Plant Procedures (SOPPs) where required.Any equipment or process faults that cannot be rectified within the O&M team, must be reported and addressed with the members of the Process, Commissioning, Mechanical and/or Electrical teams.Assist with the delivery of the CRF (Capital Replacement Fund) projects when & where applicable.Show an eagerness to learn and progress in your own career as well as the mentoring and training of more junior staff. Glanua has a proven track record of developing graduates from college through to director level within the organisation.Other duties as required from time to time.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the Operations & Maintenance Engineer are outlined as follows:Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.Minimum of a Level 7 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.An interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.Ability to engage with suppliers and sub-contractors at procurement stage and in the delivery of their scope of supply during contract delivery.Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise during project delivery.Good working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong communication skills with a high level of motivation.Full driving licence
