As part of Grant Thornton internationally, we also collaborate with other member firms across the globe.Our team provides a full spectrum of privacy consulting and software services from privacy assessments, transformation, DPO outsourcing, data protection software solutions and privacy breach management to name just a few.Candidates for this role should be able to demonstrate project management and consulting skills with a strong working knowledge of data protection. Successful candidates will ideally have a professional services background with experience of providing practical advice and solutions to companies in meeting regulatory and standards-based challenges, in particular for GDPR.They must have excellent problem solving and communication skills. Ideally, they should be naturally inquisitive with a keenness to learn and broaden skillsets. They must have a client-centric ethic because, as a consultant with Grant Thornton, they will experience direct client facing engagements and project delivery.The role will require strong client delivery skills, with a passion for data protection and a commitment to personal development. The role will involve client delivery, business development and people development.Client DeliveryAs a consultant in the privacy team, you will deliver excellence for clients, including:An ability to bring the best of Grant Thornton to clients both while working as part of a larger team and individually representing the practice supported by our team.Working on large privacy transformation engagements – these projects often involve working with Grant Thornton colleagues as well as client teams and third party contractors; andProducing deliverables of high quality on multiple small and medium size engagement simultaneously, often managing your time whilst working with multiple engagement managers – these include data protection assessments, privacy impact assessments and privacy implementations.Business DevelopmentConsultants are expected to contribute to business development activities, including:Contributing to sales and marketing materials for bringing our services to market;Writing proposals for new client work with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality; andAttending events to keep abreast of industry developments and build personal brand capital.People DevelopmentAs a people business, we place a strong emphasis on the development of our people. Consultants are expected to be committed to developing themselves and others, including:Engaging in course based and on the job training to develop their skillset and increase their value;Contributing to the development of more junior staff; andAccepting effective feedback and embracing opportunities to grow and develop.Required experience:A minimum of two years’ data protection experience either as part of an in-house data protection team or delivering data protection services to clients.Strong academic and/or professional qualifications.Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrable experience in a client facing role.Strong focus on quality and commitment to excellence.Strong analytical/problem solving skills.Desired experience:Experience in consulting, preferably in one of the following areas: Management consulting, I.T. consulting, regulatory and risk management.Relevant data protection qualification (e.g. CIPP/E; CIPM; CIPT; CDPO).Project management qualification (PRINCE2/PMP).Relevant professional experience in the field of privacy/data protection.Ideally have delivered elements of a privacy related change programme.Experience configuring and using SaaS software especially Privacy system such as OneTrust.Life at GTReward and benefits:Our reward and benefits are designed to create an environment where our people can flourish.
