<p>University Hospital Kerry is the second largest of the Health Service Executive – South/South west Area’s seven acute hospitals. The hospital provides acute general hospital services to the population of Co. Scanning Service.</p> <p>• Renal Dialysis Satellite Unit</p> <p>• Oncology Satellite Unit</p> <p>• Palliative Care</p> <p>The hospital provides a safe, effective, efficient pathology service on a twenty-four/seven basis to patients in Kerry, parts of Limerick and Cork.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>POST A</strong>: The UHK Geriatric Emergency Multidisciplinary Service (GEMS) includes a GEMS Consultant, CNS, Physiotherapist &amp; Occupational Therapist to respond to the specific &amp; complex needs of the older person. The person appointed to this Senior Speech and Language Therapist post will work as part of the GEMS team delivering a coordinated approach to older persons that attend the Emergency Department (ED) University Hospital Kerry (UHK) and who, on presentation are identified as frail.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>POST B</strong>: The UHK Stroke Service includes an acute stroke unit and a specialist and stroke-specific rehabilitation service. The team includes consultant, nursing, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and rehabilitation assistant. The person appointed to this Senior Speech and Language Therapist post will be a core member of the stroke multi-disciplinary team services. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of evidence based care in stroke.</p>
