Your new company

Our client is an SME construction company based just outside Cavan town. They work with a number of government departments on projects and are now looking for a Company Accountant to manage their whole finance function.

Your new role

They are looking for a highly driven individual with strong commercial awareness, willing to challenge existing processes and constantly looking to improve them and add more value. Reporting to Management, your duties include:

  • Ownership & Responsibility for the Accounts Function
  • Preparation of a monthly package including P&L, Balance Sheet, with supporting reports.
  • Ownership for the preparation of ROS submissions (VAT, PAYE, RCT)
  • Input of Invoices, Credit notes, Reconciling Supplier Statement
  • Monitoring of debtors' list and keeping updated accounts.
  • Run weekly Project costings.
  • Payroll & Pensions
  • Preparation of payments run and bank payments
  • Process monthly journals & reconciliation of control accounts
  • Assistance in the preparation of year-end accounts file
  • Liaison with external accountants in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
  • General administration duties
  • Maintenance of financial controls & accurate records
  • Support Management in reporting and statistical analysis in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Ensuring Management is made aware of any issues or risks to financial control & planning, and escalation of the same in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with managers, HR, employees and any other third parties where necessary.

  • What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified/Part Qualified with 3–4 years’ relevant experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA)
  • It will suit a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and working as part of a small team.
