Senior Project Engineer (Drainage)

:We are seeking experienced engineers to work within our Transport Infrastructure business as part of our Drainage Team. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects from feasibility and options stage all the way through to realising those projects on site and offering support at construction stage. You will be part of a team who specialise in the delivery of drainage design as part of all of our infrastructure projects. This entails preliminary design, detailed design, environmental mitigation and pollution control, culvert and watercourse design preparation of contract documents and report writing. The projects will vary from National Highways Schemes in the UK, Road Infrastructure Projects for TII, Contractor’s Designer on large D&B Schemes in Ireland & UK, active travel schemes and rail infrastructure projects for TII and Irish Rail.Responsibilities:Work independently within the Team with responsibility for your own deliverables.Prepare high quality documentation such as drawings, specifications, project specific details and 3D models.Liaise with our clients, approval authorities and other stakeholders and communicate your proposals to them.Work in a collaborative way with the entire Transportation unit to deliver a coordinated Scheme.Be accountable for your own personal development and training/CPD requirements (with assistance from RPS)Key Skills & Attributes:Experience of working with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage to a high level of competency. Experience in other software such as HEC-RAS, Causeway Flow etc is an advantage.Experience of highway drainage system design, culvert design, attenuation and pollution control design and natural catchment analysis.Detailed knowledge of the relevant TII and DMRB design standards and guidance notesExperience working on highway design projects at various stages from preliminary design, tender design, detailed design, and construction.Experience in liaising with Clients and working with them to achieve the required solutions.Contract Documents experience advantageous, including Bills of Quantities, Specification, Contract DrawingsAbility to prepare 3D models using Civil 3D and be familiar with working in a collaborative Level 2 BIM environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Qualifications:A minimum of 4 years relevant experience in the areas of Drainage design (specifically within Ireland and the UK).A Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or.Ideally a Level 9 Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.Be progressing towards Chartership with a recognised institution.What’s in it for you?
