Job Description Job Title: Residential Care House Parent Reports to: Home Manager, Deputy Home Manager and Senior Practitioner Location: Kingscourt Job Overview Ashdale Care (Ireland) Ltd provides Residential Services to children and young people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. Your role is a vital to helping us delivery our objective to create a safe and caring environment which meets the needs of the children who live there. You are key to making our ‘house feel like home’. About The Role Main Duties and Responsibilities  Adhere to a meal plan when preparing breakfast, lunches, dinners and suppers; allowing young people the opportunity to cook alongside you To ensure a visible presence in and around the premises of the home when on duty Maintain general tidiness of the home (domestic cleaning) and resolve laundry requirements Complete errands in a time and professional manner Create a friendly, welcoming and happy environment for our young people and visitors Develop appropriate relationships with children and parents/carers To assist with the supervision and purchase of clothing for young people, the care of furnishings and household equipment and undertake household and domestic duties which are appropriate to the care of young people. Accompany the children and young people, when necessary and with the appropriate approval and sign off of senior management, to places of worship; outings and other occasions To contribute to the development of the young people, through the promotion and provision of a healthy lifestyle Undertake duties in connection with the proper receipt, recording and safe keeping of monies and valuables within the home Inform line managers of any matters of concern in relation to the welfare of the children and young people including any concerns regarding the behaviour or practice of other staff Adhere to the health and safety at work requirements as they pertain to this post and comply with Ashdale Care (Ireland) policies and procedures Maintain confidentiality in respect of staff, children and young people at all times Participate in training as appropriate.
