We have been operating in Ireland since 1946.Abbott Ireland Nutrition Division Cootehill CavanAbbott Nutrition produces a range of infant formulae in all pack sizes under the brand name “Similac”. To complement the range of “Similac” infant formulae, the facility also manufactures a range of follow on formulae under the brand name of “Gain”. The essential ingredient is liquid skim milk and this is combined with carbohydrate, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals. The product is blended, pasteurised, dried and packaged at the site and once packaged, is distributed to Europe, South East Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Canada. Established in 1975, Abbott Nutrition in Ireland is the largest powder manufacturing facility for the production of infant formulae within the Abbott Corporation worldwide. Approximately 1,000 dairy farms in Ireland and Northern Ireland supply quality milk to the Cootehill facility which processes 500,000 litres per day. This secure supply together with Ireland’s reputation as a green, clean environment is of significant strategic importance to Abbott Nutrition.The role of Trainer / Documentation Controller will involve the followingKey ResponsibilitiesResponsible for reviewing all SOP’s for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure he/she fully understands and adheres to the SOP.Maintain all internal documents including SOP’s, Plant Forms, and Specifications.Co-ordinate documents for vendor approvals is co-ordinated through the Document Controller.Establish new and modify existing documentation in a manner which will achieve accuracy and avoid errors and product recalls or issues.Responsible for updating procedures to cGMP, EHS, Technical / New Equipment, Quality Procedures & SOP’s are made.Co-ordinate training activities for new and existing employees in manufacturing department.These training activities include new hire induction programme, orientation of process area and process lines.Design a programme to assess employees’ competence in equipment and processes to ensure compliance with associated quality procedures.Management of the training budget for the process area and work closely with plant scheduling to determine optimum opportunities for training activities. Co-ordinate all activities for SOP training, complete periodic review of training curriculums and assess content of SOPs for roles.Where changes to SOPs, processes and equipment is required this person will play a key role in determining appropriate method of training if retraining /training required.Strong linkages to plant CAPA programme and where root cause is associated with training activities develop mitigation and preventative measures to drive improvement.Be the lead administrator on Compliancewire system for operations, ensuring compliancewire is maintained accurately and report monthly KPIs to plant and senior team. Put action plans in place to address any inadequacies of system.Ensure compliance to AQR, FDA, ISO and division training policies, ensure plant training curriculums, and compliancewire requirements and training forms are maintained accurately at all times.This list of responsibilities may change depending on plant needs and employees are expected to be adaptable and flexible were this need arises. Education & ExperienceYou will have a relevant third level business qualification with one one year’s work experience in a clerical role.
