SALARY RANGE:According to the Terms of the Master Agreement for AFT STARTING DATE:August 2024 JOB OBJECTIVE:To provide evaluation, consultation, and counseling services as related to the educational program of identified students with disabilities. Monthly meeting with the Early On team and other professionals. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must meet Michigan State Department of Education criteria for full or temporary approval as a School Social Worker, have a Master’s degree, and be licensed as a Master’s Social Worker Clinical. -Or- Be enrolled in an approved Master’s level social work program and complete the waiver application process through the Michigan Department of Education. Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Knowledge of behavior management techniques, writing behavior intervention plans, functional behavior analysis, and implementing positive behavioral supports.Knowledge of and/or willingness to develop skills in: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Love & Logic, Life Space Crisis Intervention, and other similar programs will be helpful.Experience with behaviorally challenged students will also be helpful.Demonstrate ability to work with families and other staff to support the student.
