Finance Manager - Global Finance Transformation, Accounting

In this role, you will be the driving force that collaborates with accounting statutory and compliance teams and technical teams around the globe to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible - all while maintaining a strong customer focus. You will work with stakeholders and multiple global accounting teams to identify, define, and specify solutions meeting our customers' needs. This role concentrates on automation of Global Compliance reporting.This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.Key job responsibilities•Act as primary point of contact between Accounting and Tax for the execution of Local Statutory Month End close on a monthly/quarterly/yearly cadence. •Play a vital role coordinating with the various Accounting and Tax Program/Project Management Teams and set up mechanisms for tech project tracking on initiatives which are noted as blockers for Local Statutory Month End close process. You will work with stakeholders across the Accounting and Tax teams to uncover dependencies and create action plans around those dependencies. •Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual stakeholder communication on Local Statutory Month End close status including providing various performance and efficiency metrics. •Monitor Local Statutory Month End close execution and ensure that the project delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality and in line with its target date.•Retrieve and analyze data and metrics using BlackLine, Excel, and various internal Quicksight dashboards.•Identify, assess and mitigate risks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs and propose corrective actions to keep the progress of Local Statutory Month End close initiative.•Serve as a preliminary point of contact for the Accounting and Tax customers for month end close issues; performing basic triage as needed including coordination of issue resolution with various Tech and Program Management teams.•Partner with customers and Program Managers to drive alignment across users/customers where there are opportunities to drive standardization in the Local Statutory Month End close process.A day in the lifeThe ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with ambiguity, big data, and enjoys the challenges of highly complex business context. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities, deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions, and the ability to quickly learn, adapt and work with a variety of technologies.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Cork, CO, IRLBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Significant experience within accounting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization;- 4+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects- 4+ years of experience in program or project management- Experience with project delivery for large, global, cross functional projects including presenting to leadership teams- Excellent communication skills with fluent English;- Proficient Microsoft Excel user.- Skilled in data visualization techniques using but not limited to technologies such as SQL, Alteryx, VBA, TableauPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally/written) with technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels, from operational roles to executive leadership.- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous requests and manage multiple competing priorities, prioritizing effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment.- University degree in Accounting or Finance- ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA qualification;- Project management qualification (e.g. PMP, IMPA) or equivalent experience- Experienced ERP user- Experience with using technology solutions to optimize business process.- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.- Adept in basic Accounting and Tax reporting concepts.- Cross-functional projects experience.
