Pernod Ricard’s consolidated sales amounted to € 12,137 million in fiscal year FY23.What’s involved:To manage and ensure full compliance of Midleton Distillery (current and future expansion) and the Dungourney Maturation Warehouse Facility with all relevant requirements of the Environmental & Energy Management Systems (E&EMS) and all other relevant licences. To identify, develop and implement strategies and action plans across all sites to support our Carbon Scope 1,2 and 3 sustainable plans. Manage and develop a cohesive and high performing Environmental, Energy, Facilities and Production Services team. To provide regular updates on electrical and gas volume requirements for operations to the procurement team.Responsibilities:Ensuring the Health, safety and wellbeing of the Environmental and Energy team is maintained as a priority.Lead, manage, coach, mentor and develop team members, ensuring that competence of the team members is monitored and assessed.Ensure that the training needs of the team members are identified and acted upon, and the appropriate records are maintained.Responsible for the maintenance and reassessments of the site E&EMS (ISO 14001 and ISO 50001), IDL and PR standards.Responsible for full compliance with the Industrial Emissions (IE) licence (P0442) and Greenhouse Gas Permit (GHG-005) of the Midleton Distillery site, including the mandatory requirements of the EU ETS scheme.Maintain a positive relationship with external bodies and stakeholders e.g., EPA, SEAI, Enterprise Ireland, Neighbours etc.Management of all aspects of the wastewater treatment plant and waste management, specifically ensuring compliance with the site IE licence.Identify, develop, and implement environmental strategies and action plans across all sites to ensure corporate sustainability development and achievement of the agreed Environmental Roadmaps.To be a point of contact and subject matter expert for IDL and PR.Collaborate with external bodies to identify funding sources for innovative environmental and energy projects.In conjunction with senior management set organisational sustainability targets and develop robust plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery.Deliver all Environmental & Energy CAPEX projects in Midleton Distillery with the assistance of the projects team.Ensure department operational budget is effectively managed.Site facilities are maintained to an agreed standard.All aspects of the environmental and energy management of the new and any further expanded sites in future years.To promote and increase awareness of all aspects of the E& EMS across the full organisation.Qualifications and Experience:10+ years’ professional experience in consulting, waste management, energy and environmental or another similar sector.3rd Level Qualification in relevant area: Environmental Engineering/ScienceDemonstrable technical experience in the areas of Environmental Compliance, Waste Management, and a strong knowledge of all current Environmental and Waste Management Legislation.A self-motivated, enthusiastic, resourceful, proactive, solutions driven and flexible approach with a willingness to actively participate as part of a wider management team and contribute to the overall running of the business.Experience in an IE licenced and GHG permitted facility.Knowledge of COMAH Requirements.Knowledge of ISO Environmental & Energy Standards.Understanding of the legal frameworks in manufacturing, EU and National LegislationLife at Irish DistillersAt Irish Distillers, we live and love whiskey.
