We have been operating in Ireland since 1946.Abbott Ireland Nutrition Division Cootehill CavanAbbott Nutrition produces a range of infant formulae in all pack sizes under the brand name “Similac”. To complement the range of “Similac” infant formulae, the facility also manufactures a range of follow on formulae under the brand name of “Gain”. The essential ingredient is liquid skim milk and this is combined with carbohydrate, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals. The product is blended, pasteurised, dried and packaged at the site and once packaged, is distributed to Europe, South East Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Canada.Established in 1975, Abbott Nutrition in Ireland is the largest powder manufacturing facility for the production of infant formulae within the Abbott Corporation worldwide. Approximately 1,000 dairy farms in Ireland and Northern Ireland supply quality milk to the Cootehill facility which processes 500,000 litres per day. This secure supply together with Ireland’s reputation as a green, clean environment is of significant strategic importance to Abbott Nutrition.PURPOSE OF THE JOBLead and support a diverse matrix project team to successfully deliver multiple capital projects within specification, schedule and budget.Reporting to the area Program Manager you will be managing the day-to-day interaction between all key stakeholders ensuring project deliverables are achievedRequires strong decision making, planning and organisational skills and ability to progress with minimal managerial direction. Ensuring decisions are made on time or elevated where necessary to ensure progress.Liaising with stakeholders and ensuring communication and awareness of all activities are coordinated within the teams and to site management. Reporting to the site and project management teams on a regular basis.Management and mitigation of all project Risks.Setting and achieving exceptional quality standards at all levels of the operation from site housekeeping to detailed finishing.Responsible for the GMP interactions and interfaces between the operational plant and the project activities ensuring quality systems compliance at all times.Building the safety culture and maintaining Zero safety or environmental incidents.Managing vendor site attendances – ensuring security, safety and disease transmission prevention policies are adhered to rigorously.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESWorking as part of the Regional Engineering team you will be responsible for leading strategic capital investment projects and positively impacting existing manufacturing processes through root cause problem solving and introducing new technologiesYou will be part of the team responsible for the identification, design and delivery including validation of efficiency improvements for all FEU equipment.You will be a strong influencer at all organisation levels with excellent presentation skills and ability to promote ideas to management.Strong financial acumen in Project management, demonstrated experience in processing and packaging equipment, and related materials in highly validated GMP environment.The successful candidate will be highly skilled in planning and communication and will work in conjunction with the manufacturing and operational constraints placed upon it by the site. This role will follow a hybrid working model.EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES REQUIREDBachelors Eng level qualification in Engineering / science / food technologyExpert MS Office knowledge.PMBOK training or similar.7+ years of experience in high volume GMP food/medical process technologies or packaging systemsUnderstanding of Automation and scada to support process and packaging system designCAD skills are desirableData analytics for manufacturing decision making including process optimization and root cause determination.The ability to organise, motivate and understand people.A proven track record to influence and engage key stakeholders across all levels of the business.Highly Motivated, individual who is a strong team player, with the ability to work on own initiative and can easily adapt to changing environments.Ability to work with in a diverse fast paced environment.Ability to work across various time zones.
