Title: Junior Health and Safety Officer Reports to: Health & Safety Manager Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time -37 hours Location: Head Office & Hybrid working arrangement will be available following successful completion of Training / Probationary period. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY The role involves aiding in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health and Safety policies and procedures to meet legal requirements and best practices. Tasks include conducting risk assessments, site inspections, audits, incident investigations, and assisting with corrective actions. Responsibilities also include updating documentation, staying current with legislation and standards, promoting safety awareness, and managing safety paperwork. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY Assist in the development, implementation, and upkeep of the company's Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices. Participate in risk assessments and help in the identification of potential hazards and risks. Support Health and Safety Manager in conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards. Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and contribute to the development of recommendations for corrective actions. Participate in the preparation and maintenance of Health and Safety documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safety Data Sheets. Stay up to speed with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary updates to policies and procedures. Promote safety awareness, encouraging open communication, and recognizing and rewarding safe behaviours. Maintenance of safety documentation and paperwork. PERSON SPECIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent. Proficiency in computer skills, including accurate data entry and a strong command of Microsoft Office is a must. Fluency in spoken and written English is a must, as you will play an important role in promoting the safety and wellbeing of our staff clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective client interactions Full clean EU driving licence.
