EH&S Officer Cavan - Insulation Your future job Unlin Insulation (Cavan) is currently recruiting for a EH&S Officer. As a EH&S Officer you will be required to complete all the tasks efficiently and to a high standard to ensure the Health, Safety and Environmental Function runs smoothly Key Tasks & DutiesEnvironmental:• Ensure adherence to Unilin EPA license & highlight areas of concern to management. • Drive the continuous implementation of the 14001 Environmental Standard• Review and update Q-Pulse Management System. Keep abreast of new legislation & environmental requirements. • Manage Eco Online platform ensuring Safety Data Sheets are current and recommended controls are in place.• Conduct COSHH Risk Assessments.• Conduct daily & weekly water monitoring & record parameter results.• Carry out environmental audits and inspections – correlate with supervisors/managers to ensure corrective actions are carried out. • Compile & submit annual AER & EPR returns via EDEN.• Update the Aspects & Impacts register.• Chair and minute Annual Management Review meetings, ensuring actions & responsibilities are assigned and closed out in a timely manner.• Coordinate external contractors for monitoring (Ground water/air emissions/surface water/bund integrity tests) and review technical reports to ensure plant is operating within license conditions.• Manage the collection of waste produced on site & upkeep of folders for all waste contractors (Waste collection licenses are reviewed & in date/ haulers waste licenses / waste transfer notes retainedHealth & Safety • Conduct accident investigations and implement timely corrective actions/preventive.• Input accident/incident/hazard information onto IRIS – manage close out of actions.• Actively participate in daily morning meeting to update management team on EH&S issues.• Educate and coach managers and employees on how best to improve the safety and performance of their teams (Compile OPL/Safety Briefings) • Calculate and provide Monthly Blanco Statistics to Group any other metrics requested by Management. • Enforce Management Procedure for Emergency Response and ensure practice drills for Fire Safety/Chemical are carried out. • Correlate with the HSA & assist with site audits.• Implement induction program for all new employees.• Manage and upkeep the training matrix.• Contractor Control: conduct inductions/site safety briefings, documentation review (Method Statements, Insurances, Risk Assessments, Training etc.), permit completion, PPE enforcement. Etc. • Coordinate insurance inspections and certifications. Rectify any issues within time frames specified. • Zero Harm program implementation – safety moments & lifesaving rules.• Conduct on-site risk assessments and review current risk assessments.• Develop, implement and update health and safety policies & procedures & Safety Statement.• Keep stock of PPE & review compatibility with current procedures and personnel’s requirements. • Coordinate Face Fit Testing for all factory floor staff & any other occupational monitoring required.• Organize occupational health checks for employees & involved in responsible care team – host meetings and record minutes for personnel’s files. • Drive the saw safety program and ensure continued compliance.• Conduct daily inspections and audits of the factory & external areas.Key Attributes:• Have a knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety legislation and Irish regulations • 3+ years EH &S experience within a manufacturing setting is desirable• An in-depth knowledge of current legislation• Experience of dealing with EPA, HAS, EPA, and IPPC license• Excellent organizational and administrative skills and a concern for clarity and quality of work• Must have good communicational skills, be self-motivated with an ability to multi-task.• Ability to meet reporting deadlines.• Team player who will work with others to achieve company goals.• High attention to detail• Ability to provide practical problem-solving techniques.Key Attributes• Have a knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety legislation and Irish regulations • 3+ years EH &S experience within a manufacturing setting is desirable• An in-depth knowledge of current legislation• Experience of dealing with EPA, HAS, EPA, and IPPC license• Excellent organizational and administrative skills and a concern for clarity and quality of work• Must have good communicational skills, be self-motivated with an ability to multi-task.• Ability to meet reporting deadlines.• Team player who will work with others to achieve company goals.• High attention to detail• Ability to provide practical problem-solving techniques.
