Accountant

We are recruiting for a Accountant to join our client in Co Cavan. This role involves being responsible for the finance function and is a great opportunity to grow your career. You will be given autonomy and the opportunity to work on your own initiative. This is a new role due to growth and expansion within the company. Reporting directly into the Financial Controller/Management, you will be responsible for the Accounts Function and work with other team members to meet Accounts deadlines and improve processes in place. Key Duties & Responsibilities Ownership & Responsibility for the Accounts Function Preparation of a monthly package including P&L, Balance Sheet, with supporting reports. Ownership for the preparation of ROS submissions (VAT, PAYE, RCT) Input of Invoices, Credit notes, Reconciling Supplier Statement Monitoring of debtors list and keeping updated of accounts. Run weekly Project costings. Payroll & Pensions Preparation of payments run and Bank payments Liaison with external accountants in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts. General administration duties Maintenance of financial controls & accurate records Support Management in reporting and statistical analysis in an accurate and timely fashion Partaking in other ad-hoc areas of the Business as and when required. Key behaviours/Competencies Qualified/Part Qualified with 3-4 years' relevant experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) Will suit a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and working as part of a small team. Experienced in Accounts Payable, Payroll and Banking Good working level of VAT & RCT. Understanding of Construction Industry is an advantage but not essential Experience using Quickbooks or similar accounts package advantage Excellent attention to detail Excellent IT and Communication skills, both written and verbal Must be able to work effectively both as part of a team and individually. Ability to work on their own initiative with a focus on process and system improvement.
