Your new company Here in Hays, we have a great opportunity for a Lab Manager to join our client within Scientific Services in their Product Lab,Environmental Monitoring Lab,and Water Laboratory. Our client is a leading contract laboratory services provider specialised in testing and research services in the environmental, pharmaceutical, and biopharmaceutical sciences to world-renowned clients worldwide. Your new role The primary purpose of this role is to manage and co-ordinate the off-site team and their leaders to ensure that teams are operating at the highest quality and productivity standards, that they have high levels of morale and retention, and the agreed client requirements are entirely satisfied so that client expectations are met or exceeded through effective leadership and quality operational management. This person will be the key point of contact for the client from a management point of view. This role collaborates with senior leadership on the development of strategies to enhance the business, achieve our objectives and participate in overall decision-making as a member of the senior leadership team. Ensuring that the client gets the best possible service by continually reviewing best practice in relation to both commercial and quality issues and ensuring 100% ethical work standards and quality standards' compliance. Ensuring that client turnaround times are established, agreed upon and communicated effectively to the teams so that these turnaround times are met consistently. Building and managing client relationships. Establish and maintain clear lines of communication and rules of engagement between the client and the team members. Development, coaching, motivation, and morale of team members, both leadership and non- leadership level, through effective teambuilding and use of reward and recognition systems celebrating team success. Development and mentoring at leadership level to ensure subteams are meeting all client metrics, team objectives are clear and teams are motivated to achieve those objectives. Managing a system for tracking staff morale, development and stability in order to maintain a minimum level of staff attrition. What you'll need to succeed Qualifications A degree or diploma in a related discipline is required. Experience / Skills At least 5 to 7 years’ relevant technical experience with at least 2 years at a senior level of leadership. Excellent leadership skills and at least 3 years previous management experience. Previous responsibility for approving valid analytical measurements. Sound, fundamental knowledge of processes within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries Thorough understanding of the requirements for working in a GMP environment. Ability to engage with Business Development strategically, accurately and effectively. Understands the BD process.
