The history of Abbott Diagnostics is filled with examples of first-of-a-kind products and significant technological advancements.PURPOSE OF THE JOB:·To perform the day to day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing equipment.·To maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures, to perform equipment validation and preventative/ demand maintenance.·To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining troubleshooting and installing/commissioning equipment.·To coordinate and implement equipment projects.·The role is supported by an experienced and diverse team at ADD Sligo.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:·The day-to-day demand and preventative maintenance and problem-solving of manufacturing equipment to achieve product quality and production schedule goals.·Supporting Robotics (Denso, Kuka, Staubli, ABB) ·At-Line label printing and vision inspection systems (serialisation, UDI, barcodes) (e.g. CI Vision, Cognex, Keyence, Zebra) ·Sensor debugging from npn, pnp, programmed and inspection sensors, (eg.Keyence, Wenglor)·Assistance in installation and validation of new and upgraded processes.·Liaison with and assistance to contracted maintenance, e.g. service/ commissioning engineers, factory inspectors, building contracts, site maintenance, etc.·Establish with Area Team Leader/ Manager the department goals.·Ensure Safety Standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.·Foster and lead continuous improvement to the culture of safety.·Recommend/implement improvements to safety standards. ·Liaise directly with other departments in accident/incident investigations and address any issues arising from these investigations.·Ensure Environmental procedures is adhered to and improvements made where possible.·Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that facilities, utilities and equipment are maintained to meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.·Liaise with Division Engineering as required.·In conjunction with the Quality calibration co-coordinator ensure compliance with calibration requirements for Manufacturing.·Identify and implement CIP’s.·Ensure External contractors are managed and supervised.·Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects.·Any other relevant duties as requested by the Area Team Leader/ Manager.EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:·Ideally a minimum of two years relevant experience in a hands-on engineering role.·2 years experience of the maintenance of manufacturing and/or process equipment in the healthcare or food processing industry.Key Skills·Excellent electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.·Proven project management expertise. ·Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.·Has a technical background in health care, nutritional products, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, or similar industries (preferred) Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.·Enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to integrate quickly into a team environment.·Demonstrated flexible and innovative approach to work.·A good mechanical and electrical background is essential.·Must be a self-starter with the ability to organise and work within a team.This experience is necessary to ensure the skills, management expertise and problem-solving techniques have been acquired.
