Highlights include -         50% reduction in CO2 emissions -         20% increase in collection route efficiency -         All cars and vans to be Electric Vehicles -         Plant 50,000 trees to offset CO2 produced by our operations. -         Buy 100% renewable electricity. -         Develop our renewable energy capability (solar panels on roofs of offices) Reports to -         The Solid Waste Operations Manager will report to the Business Operations Manager. The role of the Solid Waste Operations Manager will consist in managing employees in the daily transport, logistics and operations of the Solid Waste Department of Walsh Waste. The Solid Waste Department consists of the MRF - Materials Recovery Facility, Recycling Plant and Yard. Role:       Resource Planning alongside the Business Operations Manager for a smooth operation of the MRF, Recycling Plant and Yard.       Management and resource planning for Drivers, Machine Operatives, Welders, Truck Collection Team Members and General Operatives.       Plan and co-ordinate with the Business Operations Manager with regards to daily/weekly operations.       Liaise with Dispatch Team to plan work scheduling for various operations.       Co-ordination of vehicle and equipment repairs with the garage.       Review of weekly rosters and timesheets for Drivers, Machine Operatives, Welders, Truck Collection Team Members and General Operatives.       Approval and co-ordination of annual leave requests via Timepoint for Drivers, Machine Operatives, Welders, Truck Collection Team Members and General Operatives.       Assist in the investigation of accidents/incidents and third-party incidents on behalf of Walsh Waste.       Monitoring of training records of new Drivers and Truck Collection Team Member on the collection routes, the proper use of the handheld devices and document returns to the office.       Continuous review of routes and route optimisation.       Review of missed scheduled work calls by drivers on a weekly basis, along with customer complaints and compliments.       Attend all scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to ensure upcoming works are planned, review current maintenance workload, resource planning and report to senior team with continues development requirements.       Assist with the selection, interview, recruitment and hiring process.                    On call at weekends and out of hours to co-ordinate emergency works when required.       Identify and plan maintenance works in the yard and MRF areas that need attention. Identify any sub-contract works or any lead procurement items needed for the works.       Co-ordinate maintenance/CVRT testing of all equipment with Garage, Quality department and dispatch office. Requirements:        Five plus years' experience in the transport, recycling, or Logistics industry        Proven ability to effectively train employees in processes, policies, and procedures.        Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of Computer Systems including Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, and Word plus Google Sheets and related business applications.        Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.        Additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.       Strong leadership skills with the ability to adapt to change and multi-task.       HGV truck license would be an advantage but is not essential.   We are looking forward to hearing from you,  apply today.
