Health and Safety Officer

Health & Safety Officer I am delighted to be supporting my client a leading distribution company in recruiting a Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Limerick. Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety procedures and management systems. This role will involve providing training, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout their sites in Limerick, Cork, and Galway. Responsibilities: Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices. Conduct risk assessments and implement effective risk reduction programs across all sites. Perform regular internal inspections and audits to monitor controls and identify areas for improvement. Manage departmental programs and tasks to achieve targets, including tracking action items and ensuring timely closure. Monitor health and safety performance metrics and take decisive action when necessary. Organize and deliver training sessions to management and personnel as required. Lead incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented. Facilitate meetings between safety representatives, committees, and management, and track actions. Requirements: Graduate Diploma (Level 8) in Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare. 3+ years of experience in a Health and Safety focused environment. Knowledge of ISO standards, particularly ISO 45001:2018. Training, Delivery & Evaluation (QQI 6) or Instructor training advantageous. Experience working within a FMCG business. Proficient in MS Office packages. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong report writing skills and policy development abilities. Full clean driving license with own car. Flexibility with shift rotation and travel required. Apply Today for an immediate interview.
