Job DescriptionLean & Continuous Improvement Co-ordinator OffalyRef No: DT18173County Offaly, Republic of IrelandCompetitive salary Lean and Continuous Improvement Co-ordinatorAn outstanding opportunity for qualified qualify professional, with 2 years experience, to gain hands on practical experience of leading LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives at a major pig meat processing operation.Reports to the Site Manager with a strong dotted line to the Group Lean managerThis role involves assisting the Group Lean manager identifying, developing and implementing the Lean programme for the County Offaly Site.Main ResponsibilitiesThe leader of Lean in Edenderry, part of the site management team.Provide leadership/guidance for Department Managers in regard to Lean solutions.Lead improvement under the company Continuous Improvement Program and Lean Programmes.Use and practice Lean Principles and Lean Tools and provide functional support on all elements of the Lean Toolkit such as DMAIC, 5S.Drive a problem solving culture by demonstrating strong problem solving skills, leading by example and active participation to resolve issues and provide permanent corrective actions.You will have responsibility for planning and assisting in the completion of various Lean Kaizen events targeted towards improving the operational and plant performance.You will determine training requirements for staff arising from introduction/implementation of Lean Principles/Initiatives.Provide lean training to employees.Manage communication of lean initiatives across the site.Measure and report of lean projects and results.You will manage the review process for selecting, scoping and prioritising lean initiatives.You will continue to focus on existing Lean initiatives and operational performance to constantly strive to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction and achieve growth and development via the on-going use of Lean tools and Lean Principles and the introduction of new initiatives where necessary to sustain the benefits.Assist in the development of TPM within the plant.Other projects and responsibilities may be required to support the site plans.Partake daily in the operations review and PIT meetings.Support yield improvement, labour management, efficiency implementation, reporting and monitoring.Qualifications:Training and education in the area of LEAN is required, with 2 -3 years practical experience and evidence of achievements, either as an operator or a practitioner.This role requires a high degree of flexibility, responsiveness and the ability to self-manage and prioritise.Excellent communication skills in addition to excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other relevant technology and tools.Education:Advanced/Higher Certificate (preferred)Experience:Lean/Continuous Improvement: 2 years (preferred)Licence/Certification:Qualification in LEAN , green/ black Belt (preferred)
