In this newly created position, the Sourcing Specialist – Direct Packaging will leverage proven Sourcing and Procurement experience, strategic thinking, solid organizational, communication and negotiation skills to support and implement procurement and sourcing processes that maximize value while prioritizing stakeholder service and business process support. This position will be key role in supporting and leading the company’s Direct Goods and Services category spend.You will help to drive the success of our Global Operations organization while ensuring we can meet our business goal of delivering important medicines to patients suffering from rare disease to 100+ countries worldwide. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading packaging category strategies in support of Direct Materials. You will be partnering with and advising key stakeholders on supply market dynamics and leading practices which improve value, minimize risk, and ensure quality and cost effectiveness.You will be responsible for:Sourcing/NegotiationLead strategic sourcing initiatives for all Packaging Components for Dublin Packaging facility. Manage MRP and purchasing data management in SAP on a daily / weekly basis and ensure all requirements are procured on time to meet production schedules.Work closely with Operations and ensure adequate safety stock is in place on site at all times. and also manage material expiry of secondary packaging componentsFollow market trends for various categories of spend. Use this knowledge to support internal customers.Lead cross-functional team through sourcing and procurement processes.Proactively manage supplier issues and lead issue resolution with Packaging Suppliers as they arise to ensure no impact to production, for example Invoice queries and Quality issues. Support the Negotiation with suppliers on financial terms & conditions, risk management, etc. Identify sources of supply and develop strong relationships with suppliers.Assist internal clients to develop and enforce compliance to supplier Service Level Agreements - manage and measure supplier performance.Work with internal customers to ensure we have a robust Supplier Management Process in place.Coordinate between Alexion Artwork team and Suppliers to ensure new colour standards are approved for New Product Launches.Work with clinical team for Stock transfer of clinical materials to Alexion DublinEnsure timelines are adhered to support NPI’s for Finished Product in new countries.Business PartnershipManage strategic multi location business relationships and work with colleagues at the Dublin facility to ensure we are maximizing value and we have synergy in place for Supplier Mgnt. In collaboration with business partners and Procurement colleagues ensure we optimize both the vendor base and services.Work with Financial Planning & Analysis team as well as business unit subject matter specialists to gather and assess budget forecasts, further supporting sourcing plans and drive suppliers to deliver value and continuous improvement.Support both the Ireland manufacturing operations when required. . LeadershipEducate end-users on Procurement policies, procedures and processes through daily interactions and other defined training programs.Actively develop and manage vendor performance using key performance indicators and scorecard development, business reviews and effective contract change/dispute management process.You will need to have:3 - 5 years’ experience in diverse purchasing areas preferred.Demonstrated ability to develop and lead the implementation of Strategic Sourcing projects.Procurement and Strategic Sourcing experience in a pharmaceutical/manufacturing environment and Distribution operation highly desirable.Category area experience in Packaging Components spend areas noted above, with strong focus and demonstrated success in sourcing these componentsExceptional negotiation skills; you are a tenacious problem-solver with a focus on building mutually beneficial relationships.Date Posted23-Apr-2024Closing Date23-May-2024Our mission is to build an inclusive and equitable environment.
