Job DescriptionSecurity Officer - County WestmeathRef No: AM18267County Westmeath, Republic of IrelandCompetitive salary Security Officer - County Westmeath.This is a 4-cycle shift position.In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the site and the personnel working therein. You will report directly to the Security Supervisor/Director of Operations and work within a matrix structure organisation. Interested applicants should be self-motivated, and able to prioritise workload in all areas of responsibility.Principal Accountabilities:• Patrol the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.• Ensure all callers to the business are screened before entering the premises.• Monitor and authorise entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.• Check and log in to book all deliveries to premises and check out any collections from premises.• Answer telephone calls to take messages etc. outside of normal trading hours.• Answer alarms, inform alarm control / fire brigade outside of normal business hours and investigate disturbances.• Operate and monitor security equipment for both security and H&S purposes reporting any breaches of procedure or unusual activity.• Call Gardai or fire department as required in cases of emergency (fire outside of normal trading hours).• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as damage to property or equipment, theft, presence of unauthorised persons or unusual activity.• Switch off all lights in areas where no production / work is being carried out, switch off gas as directed. All doors to be secured and only re-opened before shift starting times.• Night shift personnel must patrol and check premises every 2 hours using the clocking system during patrol.• Control of cars going in to and out of company car park, monitoring and recording any activity in same.• Hold list of all company personnel and car registrations.• Stop and search all vehicles and persons entering / exiting premises as required (includes contractors/visitors).• Ensure that all scrap material leaving premises has been signed for by authorised parties.• Ensure that all contractors are signed in and out and that H&S procedures are followed.• Undertake any other duties as may be required relevant to support the business.Skills and Experience required:• At least 2 years' experience in a similar role. • Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is an advantage, but not essential.• Ability to communicate and interact with all levels within the business • Must hold current PSA license.• Full Driver’s License• Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel etc.)
