We are now seeking an experienced professional with a passion for innovation and attention to join our team as a Packaging Specialist. You’ll collaborate with our relevant stakeholders and suppliers to set packaging specifications for new packaging, including all critical quality requirements. This is a plant based at Coca-Cola Ballina, Co. Mayo & reports to the Process Quality Assurance Manager.What you will do for us Packaging Quality Assurance: work cross-functionally with suppliers, customers, and other plant stakeholders to set critical quality specifications for safety, to optimize OEE, supply chain, and regulatory compliance of packaging.Organize and lead meetings with packaging suppliers to optimize efficiency.Compliance: monitor, conduct, and update the packaging inspection and testing plan to verify the compliance of the packages received with the defined technical specifications.Development and Optimization of Packaging: develop and approve, in accordance with The Coca-Cola Company's quality standards, new packaging and packaging suppliers to guarantee and improve the quality of the services and raw materials supplied to the Company whilst considering sustainability.Stakeholder Support: support packaging issues investigation or troubleshooting, identifying root cause and corrective actions, making changes as needed (training, specification update, equipment changes).Lead Packaging Supplier Development & Technical Visits including audits as required.Support Commercial Product Supply (CPS) Packaging Network by providing Subject Matter Expertise: share technical expertise, participate in global projects and packaging initiatives with other sites within the Commercial Product Supply.Operational Excellence drive, manage and embed a continuous improvement culture within the team to deliver improvements through lean principles and systems.Work experience and Education requirements:University bachelor’s degree in science or engineering for example Packaging, Polymer, or related field preferred.Relevant experience and knowledge of Quality Systems & Tools (problem solving, pareto analysis) and Packaging Technology & development.Technical knowledge and skills in project management, packaging development, approval, and quality control of packaging for food products is required.Knowledge of packaging regulations for food contact and the transport of hazardous materials (UN Certification).Auditing proficiency and formal qualification in food safety auditing would be an advantage.Competent in IT applications for example Power BI, SAP, Office, Flowcharting)Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Able to work to deadlines.Skills:Compliance, Continual Improvement Process, Food Safety Audits, Packaging, Packaging Technologies, Quality Control (QC), Technical Knowledge
