JOB TITLE:                              Retail Butcher - McCarren Direct Cavan REPORTS TO:                         Shop Manager     McCarren Direct, based in Cavan town, was founded in 2004 next door to McCarren Meats, a pig and bacon processors which was established in 1860. The retail shop has proven highly successful and McCarren Direct has gone from strength to strength which we contribute to our consistent high standards resulting in exceptional quality produce at affordable, competitive prices.   We are looking to recruit the right person for a permanent Retail Butcher to join our team.     Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: ·       Supporting the Manager in the day to day running of the shop ·       Cut, prepare and serve all protein products and species including the manufacture of sausages and mince ·       Handling and preparing raw and cooked foods in a delicatessen environment for chilled cabinets ·       Provide top quality, fast, efficient and friendly service, giving customers immediate and undivided attention ·       Ensure stock control procedures including waste management and order systems are adhered to ·       Best practice merchandising, display and department layout skills ·       Implement all shop marketing plans and maximising promotions ·       Set-up and close-down of counters and pore-pack areas ·       Help to achieve Sales Targets as agreed with shop manager ·       To ensure company rules, policies and procedures are adhered to at all times ·       Always maintain a clean butcher/retail environment ·       Uphold and enhance Health and Safety Standards, including cleanliness and hygiene. ·       Maintain legal records as required daily ·       Facilitate and participate in the introduction of any new range as the company requires ·       Assist in quality checks as required Excellent knowledge of prepared by butcher tray packs and added value range essential      SKILLS, BEHAVIOURS REQUIRED: ·       Excellent customer service and communication skills ·       Team Player ·       Positive attitude to work ·       Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team ·       Ability to work under pressure   QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE   ·       Fluent English essential   ·       Minimum of 3 years previous experience within a similar environment working at a fresh meat counter ·       Hygiene/HACCP   Benefits WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU   ·       Staff discount for McCarren Direct ·       Company Pension ·       Discounted Health Insurance ·       Free parking ·       Permanent Contract
