<h1>ROLE SUMMARY</h1> <p><strong>(1).</strong> To prepare, plan, install &amp; coordinate Mechanical works as directed by the Maintenance Manager and the Mechanical Foreman.</p> <p><strong>(2).</strong> To assemble, install, test &amp; commission Mechanical Systems throughout the Mater Misericordiae University Campus and associated external buildings.</p> <p><strong>(3).</strong> To carry out recommended Pre-Planned Mechanical Maintenance system checks in accordance with all relevant standards &amp; regulations.</p> <p><strong>(4).</strong> To ensure all relevant Mechanical pre-connection &amp; post-connection tests are carried out as outlined by the applicable standards &amp; Regulations governing such systems as LTHW boilers, MTHW boilers, Medical Gas Systems etc.</p> <p><strong>(5).</strong> To provide the Mechanical Fitting Foreman with weekly progress reports and updates surrounding current and active maintenance &amp; project works.</p> <p><strong>(6).</strong> Provide Mechanical installation support on all project works as directed by the Maintenance Manager and the Mechanical Fitting Foreman.</p> <p><strong>(7).</strong> Ensure all maintenance and project activity is captured via the hand held maintenance devices daily.</p> <p><strong>(8).</strong> Ensure the quality of work provided exceeds the acceptable standard and that all non-compliant or unacceptable works is highlighted to the Mechanical Foreman.</p> <p><strong>(9).</strong> To perform duties as instructed by the Mechanical Foreman on a day to day basis.</p> <p><strong>(10).</strong> To take reasonable care to protect the health &amp; safety of themselves and of others in the workplace by adhering to the following, Health &amp; Safety at Work Acts 2005 &amp; 2007 and the Health &amp; Safety at work (2013) Construction Regulations.</p> <p><strong>(11).</strong> Ensure all works carried out are in line with the Health &amp; Safety Regulations outlined above.</p> <p><strong>(12).</strong> Liaising with key stake holders to schedule works, minimising the disruption to both patients and the Hospitals operations.</p> <p><strong>(13).</strong> Participate in the procurement of materials for the Mechanical shop, ensuring that materials are available for scheduled works in advance of the activity. Materials shall be procured via the Hospitals appointed electronic procurement system.</p> <p><strong>(14).</strong> To identify health and safety risks associated with the delivery of the service and report immediately to the Mechanical Foreman.</p> <p><strong>(15).</strong> Undertake risk assessments on all non-standard work requests. This is to include all working at height activities, confined spaces, Medical Gas works and any other high risk activity.</p> <p><strong>(16).</strong> To ensure compliance with all health &amp; safety legislation and compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations and requirements of our insurers.</p> <p><strong>(17).</strong> Ensure the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times.</p> <p><strong>(18).</strong> Ensure all fall protection equipment has been tested and is only used within the certified period covered by the testing.</p> <p><strong>(19).</strong> To record all activities in the Hospitals Maintenance Management system, working with the Maintenance Manager &amp; the Mechanical Foreman to improve the collection of data.</p> <p><strong>(20).</strong> Manage the Mechanical work requests, ensuring that work is allocated on a priority basis via the electronic system.</p> <p><strong>(21).</strong> Attend and participate in the Hospitals mandated training programs as directed by HR, Maintenance Management, Health &amp; Safety &amp; the Fire Department.</p> <p><strong>(22).</strong> Provide reports in respect to Mechanical tasks undertaken within the Hospital. Accurate and detailed data input to the Hospitals Maintenance Management System will aid in this delivery.</p> <p><strong>(23).</strong> To provide support to the Mechanical Foreman in developing Mechanical specifications.</p> <p><strong>(24).</strong> Manage attendance and work rosters to ensure the site has optimal cover, consult with the Mechanical Foreman when attendance or cover falls short of expectation.</p> <p></p> <p>Formore information, please see attached full job description.&nbsp;</p>
