Job DescriptionAssist with Coordination and completion of assigned EHS projects, supporting the development of sustainable, robust and compliant EHS strategies and systems with associated policies and procedures.Be a visible champion of EHS initiatives and drive in EHS forums/initiatives, as well as promotion of PSS EHS CultureMonitor EHS KPI’ s for all PSS UK and IRE sites on a monthly basisReport any required Safety Metrics to Eurofins Sustainability GroupEnsure that monthly safety audits of the site are performed (in accordance with PSS On-Site Managers)Assist and Perform risk assessments and audits across the PSS sites on a regular basis ensuring that all site activities are being managed in line with legal and corporate requirementsComplete investigations of EHS incidents and corrective actions in a timely manner, report to third parties as required.Update and maintain all internal safety related quality documentation working procedures and standard documentsHighlight training requirements and improve the safety culture through training and awarenessMonitor adherence to company policies and check effectiveness of current policies that are in placeCarry out PSS EHS inductions, manual handling and ergonomic training as required.Achieve milestone objectives as agreed on projects assignedPromote EHS culture and awareness within the PSS organisation through participation and clear visibility and alignment on assigned project goals, targets and achievements.Advise management on Environmental health and safety laws, regulations and directives which affect the company and its employees.Participate in Environment & Sustainability Projects throughout Europe (where required)Participating in PSS Team Meetings and giving updates to rest of team as necessary.Reviewing and improving commercial work practices. Responsible for identifying areas where efficiencies may be improved and liaising with the customer appropriately about any proposed improvements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science related disciplineAt least 4 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical industry GMP laboratory.NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety qualified (or supported through training)An understanding of requirement to develop EHS compliance programs, with exposure to chemical and/or biological agents in the Pharmaceutical industry or related industry.Clear understanding of the needs of cGMPAbility to work in a multidiscipline team but also possesses self-motivation and drive.Good understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and regulations.Experience of chemical/biological agents risk assessment and occupational monitoring is advantageous.
