Our work positively impacts the lives of over 10,000 people with disabilities, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and self-belief to achieve their expressed goals Job Title: Instructor 6 months Fixed Term Contract, Full-time 36 hours per week Potential for extension Location: National Learning Network – Cavan Job Purpose: The VT Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specification, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programme. The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to higher level further education or employment. Minimum Education & Experience required: Third level qualification in any area such as employment, business, education, training, social care, retail, logistics etc. A relevant qualification -Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum. A number of years’ relevant occupational experience of working with learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts. Experience in delivery of QQI level 3 + 4 certifications. Experience in developing and delivering training would be an advantage Experience in TQAS and QQI accreditation processes. Experience in sourcing work placements. Experience in working on own initiative with a professional and confident approach. Be able to support students in gaining employment and building links with local employers. Networking skills to build internal and external relationships. Excellent facilitation and presentation skills together with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills An ability to motivate learners and to maintain networks with stakeholders and local communities The Instructor will take part in all aspects of co-ordination and facilitation in respect of National Learning Network. Good understanding of work placements, job coaching and mentoring. Job Duties & Responsibilities Job Area Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules for QQI Levels 3 + 4 certification Facilitate participants in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to secure progression outcomes Meet key performance indicators in relation to learner placement and progression and achievement of certification targets As part of a team liaise appropriately with relevant key stakeholders in maintaining programme allocations Assist Learners in reviewing previous experiences and exploring future goals, using a range of occupational interest, educational and problem solving techniques Source and support work experience placements and instil by example and direct training, proper work attitudes and work behaviours Provide learners with adequate and constructive feedback about their progress Maintain all records in accordance with both internal and external quality standards and produce reports on same Develop curricula and innovative interventions in co-operation with Programme Development Officer, Rehabilitation Psychologist, Manager and Staff Course Instructor must strictly follow the Assessment Specification and must always seek clarification where there are any ambiguities or issues with an assessment, The instructor must apply due diligence to adhering to the Assessment Specification and to the conduct of the assessment and must always resolve any issues as soon as possible. Apply all standards and procedures relating to Health and Safety Acts and maintain the highest levels of safety Ensure a rational and economical use of all equipment, materials and supplies and the maintenance of same Report to the Manager on all matters pertaining to the programme and inform the Manager in a timely manner should problems arise Perform the role of Instructor under the guidance of the management of National Learning Network and co-operate fully with the centre staff and multi-disciplinary teams and relevant stakeholder such as ETB as required Carry out any other duties and responsibilities within the general requirements of the above job specification as may be required from time to time Contribute to the continuous improvement of activities of National Learning Network and actively participate in and promote a culture of excellence throughout all National Learning Network activities Additional requirements Full Clean Driving Licence and means of transport Staff benefits: Company Pension Scheme Paid maternity leave Paid paternity leave 24 days annual leave Bike to work scheme Tax saver travel scheme Income protection Health and Wellbeing programme Closing Date: Please submit your application to this post by 22/04/2024
