If you are a logical thinker with a passion for automation and open to challenges, KAON is the perfect fit for you.Keep reading for more detailed information on the role, salary range, and how to apply.Role DetailSalary Range: €32k-€40k paThe KAON team is looking for a new team member who will be responsible for designing mechatronic equipment that includes robotic integration, servos, and pneumatics.This position is an entry level position, ideal for recent graduates or individuals with less than 2 years of experience who are looking for a change in career direction. The role is perfect for an engineer who is interested in machinery design, enjoys solving complex design challenges with logical thinking, and is willing to get hands-on with their designs to ensure they work as intended.As part of the team, your primary responsibility will be to design parts using Solidworks, arranging their manufacture, and ensuring their functionality. You should be eager to learn about complex mechanisms and use this gained knowledge to solve design challenges in a unique way.Key responsibilities:DesignDesign of Mechatronic equipment after design concept acceptance, within planned timelines, adhering to quality standardsDesign of Machine frame guarding elementsDesign of Sheet metal brackets and tooled componentsHelp and Support Senior Design EngineersDevelop part detail drawings and interface with suppliers to get quotations where requiredCreate General assembly drawingsEnsure accurate bills of materials are developed on all assigned projectsWork within standard operating practices always ensuring adherence to proceduresSupporting role to assist lead engineersEnsure standard operating procedures are adhered toComplete project checklists and required internal KAON documents to ensure that project phase exits are completed correctly.ProcurementBrief supplier on requirements and get quotations that ensure quality, value and project timelines are achievedFollow-up on order progressDevelop an understanding of supplier techniques and manufacturing processesBuildDevelop Build Packs and brief build teamCommunicate clearly with machine build technicians to ensure machine builds take place accurately and efficientlyProactively address potential design or supply issues affecting projects by providing information and recommendations in a timely fashion to minimise project impactsUpdate drawings / draftsDevelop “as built” drawings ensuring that customer drawings reflect as built at project completionTake ownership of open issue lists and resolve design issues.Other key skills and competenciesGood organisation skills including:Effective time managementAbility to accurately prioritise tasksAdhere to project management timelinesEffective CommunicationListening and verbal skillsGood problem-solving skillsAppropriate / timely escalation of issuesWilling to take ownershipSelf-starter with good attention to detailSense of urgency in completion of tasksAdopt a quality mindsetPride in your work outputAdherence to proceduresGood time management skills, able to meet deadlines and work under pressureEducational, Experience and Location:Educated to degree level in a mechanical engineeringUp to 2 years’ experience in an engineering role would be desirable however is not a requirementAbility to take responsibility to ensure all project stakeholders are up to date with work progress dailyLegally able to work in IrelandWillingness to live near Sligo as role is office basedCurrent driving licence and able to travel as required
