We work with cross-functional partners globally to enhance oversight over critical issues, drive transparent decision-making and accountability, and foster a culture of integrity for the long-term success and sustainability of the company. What you’ll doThe Governance Manager for EMEA and APAC is responsible for implementing and embedding effective governance practices within the regions, to promote a culture of compliance and sound risk management. Being proactive and results-oriented, you will help make sure that Stripe’s products, business and operations are subject to high governance standards. Responsibilities:Develop and implement robust governance frameworks across the EMEA and APAC regions, while ensuring alignment globallyCoordinate local governance fora and maintain best-practice documentation and audit trails Ensure adherence with decision-making standards and escalation processes across the regions’ governance fora, including operational working groups, senior forums, and Board / Board SubcommitteesEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including with 1LOD and 2LOD teams, local management and leadershipSupport the creation of a robust issue management governance process, enabling adequate oversight and management of the company’s risk and compliance issues Support the design and implementation of a policy governance process, including defining a process for policy exceptions/escalations and overseeing the process of policy compliance Develop training and awareness of governance procedures to ensure understanding and adherence across all areas of the business Who you areWe’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum requirements 5+ years of relevant governance, compliance, or risk management experience in global companies operating in EMEA and APAC regionsExperience in developing and implementing governance frameworks across diverse jurisdictionsSolid understanding of regional regulatory requirements, industry-specific compliance standards, corporate governance principles and practices Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levelsExcellent written and verbal communication skills; an aptitude for communicating clearly and effectively to a wide array of audiences, including senior management, Committees, BoardsAdept in creating reporting and presentations (using Google Suite of products) which simplify complex themes into understandable communicationsHighly effective organisational and project management skills, with a proven track record in meeting deadlines, performing under pressure, and advancing a number of projects simultaneouslyAn aptitude for working in a regulated environment and for building compliance by designThe horsepower to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and to balance multiple priorities and workstreamsPreferred qualificationsExperience in fintech or another fast-growing global technology company Hybrid work at Stripe This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams. A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live. Pay and benefits The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €88,200 - €132,400. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
