Context/Scope This role is in the Employee Relations Team which enables and supports the HR Business Partners and Operational Line Managers in the delivery of their strategic objectives. It provides a full professional service on Employee Relations Case Management, ER Capability Development and support on Industrial and Employee Relations matters. Purpose of the role To provide expertise in all aspects of Employee Relations matters such as individual end-to-end ER case management (e.g., disciplinaries, grievances, ill health retirement, long term absence etc), ER capability building as well as the management of employee relations matters Maintain and build a strong relationship with the union groups on site and consults with the union regarding change programmes Supports the business to maintain a healthy and productive Employee Relations (ER) climate by providing a professional service to Line Managers, HR Business Partners, Senior Stake.holders in all aspects of Individual ER case management taking into account the commercial and financial context. Provides a policy advisory service to employees and line managers to ensure compliance with policy and employment legislation and that any policy exceptions are justified. Coaches Managers to deliver a consistent approach to all ER issues, whilst ensuring compliance with policy, procedure and case law and reducing risk to the business. It is also a requirement that the ER Specialist keeps updated on any changes to employment law and understands the impact to the business. Qualifications and Experience Required Degree and/or CIPD qualified or equivalent in-depth experience Previous experience of ER case management – either as a HR professional or as an experienced people manager Knowledge and application of HR Policies and ROI Employment Law Experience of handling project work Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills and ability to apply at all levels within the organisation Comfortable working with IS systems Diversity statement: Celebrating our inclusive and diverse culture is core to Diageo’s purpose of “celebrating life every day everywhere”.
