The Global Investment Strategy Team is responsible developing and communicating the Davy outlook of the global economies and investment markets. Working together with the investment selection and portfolio construction teams, this team drives the allocation policy for discretionary and advisory client portfolios. The Investment Analyst will report to the Head of Investment Strategy of Davy Wealth Management.Key responsibilities:• Member of a high performing team of investment professionals.• This role will suit those eager to learn and gain exposure to asset classes, including equities, fixed income and alternative asset classes.• Work closely with team in production of weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports, that analyse and evaluate the performance of asset classes and markets.• Assist senior members of the team in preparation of marketing and sales collateral.• Assist senior members of the team in developing the house view of the global economy and markets.• Assist senior members of the team in developing tactical investment recommendations for discretionary portfolios.• Preparation of internal updates and insights on specific assigned economies and markets. Aide ongoing monitoring of existing investments to include asset class and market updates and events.Requirements A passion for investing. An ability to think analytically and conceptually. A positive attitude, flexible outlook and a high level of initiative and enthusiasm. Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. A strong commitment to personal development. Degree or Masters level in business related discipline. 1 to 3 years investment experience. Willing to complete the QFA and CFA examinations. Excellent information technology capability, including a high level of competence in Microsoft Office products. An ability to prioritise own workload The position set out above is defined as a “Controlled Function (CF)” role, namely CF3, CF4, Section 20 of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and Schedule 1 of the Regulations ( No. 437 of 2011) as amended. In accordance with Section 21 of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and the Fitness and Probity Standards 2014, any offer of employment is conditional upon you demonstrating that you meet the Fitness & Probity requirements, applicable to this position. The role is also subject to the Minimum Competency Code and therefore there is a requirement to hold, or be willing to take the APA (Regulation & Investment) or (Pensions) or Registered Stockbroker or QFA exams.
