CLdN’s 3,000 employees ensure that it fulfills its mission: to excel as an integrated provider of maritime links. Due to our continuous expansion, we are looking for a legal counsel. Your role •Responsibility for the permanent monitoring of the legal aspects of business activities in a European context; •Screening contracts and other legal documents (T&C, tender contracts, corporate / structuring agreement, contracts with subcontractors, purchase contracts, etc.); •Advising the management and operations, including regarding contracts provisions, rights, obligations; •Negotiating independently with customers and suppliers and drafting contract texts; •Monitoring evolving legislation and sector-practice, especially affecting transport and logistics; •Managing customer/supplier files (e.g. credit-control, commercial disputes, etc.) in collaboration with external legal advisors; •Organising and carrying out occasional internal reviews / audits; •Follow-up and advising on claim files (in collaboration with a claims manager); •Coordinate and collaborate with other legal counsels within CLdN / C.Legal as a good team-player; •Travelling regularly to the different locations where the CLdN group is active (your permanent place of employment can be discussed based on the different locations of CLdN offices). Your profile •You obtained a Master's degree in Law; •Knowledge of Dutch laws and regulations is a plus; •You have at least 3 years of experience as a legal counsel or as a lawyer; •You have good knowledge of international transport legislation (including CMR) and have an affinity with transport and logistics; •You have some knowledge of company law; •You are result-oriented, have an eye for company interests and can be a business partner in the legal field; •You have excellent communication skills and can deliver a clear, concise message; •You can set priorities, work independently and are a good planner and organiser; •You are pragmatic and provide solutions for the business; •You are discreet and trustworthy; •You are a good team-player and can work collaboratively; •You have excellent spoken and written knowledge of English (working language) and Dutch. French and German are a plus.
