We are seeking applications for the position of Assistant Accountant for a part-time permanent role.Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a great opportunity for an accounting professional to join an experienced accounts and finance team.Bloomfield Hospital provides treatment, care, and support to adults with severe and enduring mental health needs. We value each member of our team and believe strongly in supporting employee wellbeing and in the importance of a healthy work-life balance.Work Location: Stocking Lane, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, Ireland – this is an onsite role.Hours of work: 20 hours per week (across Monday – Friday).Contract Type: Permanent part-time.Reports to: Financial ControllerKey responsibilities:Supervision of the day-to-day operation of Bloomfield’s accounting function as follows: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll & Pension processing, Petty Cash Management, Bank Reconciliations, Cash Flow Projections, Cost Control & Variance Analysis, General Ledger journal preparation, General Ledger reconciliations, Statutory Returns.Implement changes to processes and systems, manual or computerized as required.Liaise with suppliers, customers, and colleagues to ensure the timely accurate processing of accounts.Maintain records and report to the Financial Controller in respect of patient property accounts.Provide information to improve the efficiency of the accounting processes.Adhere to tight deadlines and cut-off points.Keep the Financial Controller informed of all relevant issues.Report any concerns of financial abuse of residents.Maintain strictly confidential all information arising in the course of the job, and keep secure all information from unauthorized access.To perform all other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.Key competencies required:Communication Skills Have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and network with all levels and stakeholders in the organisation.Results OrientationHave initiative, diplomacy and analytical skills necessary for anticipating changes that are required and persisting until those changes are implemented.Organisational SkillsHave excellent organisational, administrative, resource and time management skills, with proven experience of working to tight deadlines; the ability to multi-task and prioritise appropriately, with excellent attention to detail.InitiativeHave the ability to work independently on his/her own initiative and as a member of a team.Problem Solving SkillsDemonstrate good decision making and problem-solving skills.Adaptability and FlexibilityBe flexible and have an on-going positive attitude and adaptability to change.Teamwork SkillsHave the ability to build effective working relationships with others, co-operate with colleagues to achieve goals and be sensitive to their needs.The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements: Be a qualified ACCA, CIMA, CPA.Hold a Business / Accounting / Finance degree qualification.Have more than 3 years’ experience in a similar role with experience in the preparation of accounts (FRS102).Have proven experience in Payroll preparation.Possess strong MS Office, Accounting software knowledge and experience.Our benefits include:Free onsite staff parkingSubsidised restaurantCycle to Work SchemeEmployee Wellbeing programmeEmployee Assistance ProgrammePlease submit an up-to-date CV to by 5pm on Friday 26th April 2024.For further information about this vacancy, please contact a member of our HR Team on 01-4950021 or email:
